It was recorded at Jackpot! Recording Studio in 1997 by Larry Crane. An earlier version of this song was initially written and recorded by Elliott's high school band, Stranger Than Fiction, and was known as "Time is Ours Now". I wouldn't say it's a 'adult contemporary arrangement.' it's no is typical, layered pop rock arrangement but there's a cello instead of a bass guitar for some reason. That's just plain innovative.. Yeah all these unreleased tracks. I only just discovered them recently because I have all the albums and b sides, etc never occured toe to randomly look for new song. But I know his family has hundreds and hundreds more, mostly unmastered but still... Apparently during the last few years if his life he'd write and record dozens of songs a week. Another few years and it's all public domain that will be amazing

This song tells a really sad yet realistic stor especially for those who know the junky scene in Portland. There he is hanging out at a trap house and one of the regular buyers beings her little girl and leaves her there unattended at some point so he bans her. Scene that kinda thing too many times. Assuming this is real (most of his songs were), wtf was post Oscars fame Elliot doing slinging dope at a trap house? It had to be after he was became famous, that's when he was doing heroin.
