It sucks that Spencer Martin has been thrown under the bus. He's not a legit regular NHL goalie, but as per his previous work, he is good for a backup role where a team will run the #1 guy for 55-60 games.

Agreed. Didn't see the game against Detroit. Only the highlights which showed that the score would have been a lot higher against the Canucks had it not been for Martin. But then again, it seems Delia is getting better results with the same defence in front of both goalies. That's probably why Martin was waived.

I dont think he's being thrown under the bus. He's being sent down because he needs to get some wins for himself. Getting off the tank team to go to the winning team seems like a courtesy not a punishment.

i'm convinced friedman just makes stuff up. The conditioning thing is really obvious for west coast teams. We just don't get enough time to practise or fitness train. The schedule must be adjusted at the top levels because frankly I'm sick and tired seeing east coast teams get the sweetheart scheduling. And YES it is an excuse to be tired and worn out after travelling 2 -3 times as much as a team like Boston or the Rangers. It's just an outright crime what the NHL head office did to Vancouver at the start of this season with a 7 game road trip to begin the season. If we had a couple of home games in there and just some games vs Calgary or Seattle we'd have started this season totally differently. With the Bad officiating all year long and the bad scheduling its no wonder this turned into a season to forget.

Feel bad for the kid, but OTHERWISE, what's the problem here? Do you want to win? You're outta the playoffs, but you want to win and worsen the draft pick. Agreed and he also is far too aggressive selling out to the shooter which leaves gaping open nets for anything but the shot and his rebound control is as bad as it gets. It's kind of strange to see because I thought he played much better technically last season but I think it's all in his head and he's very soft mentally and just can't handle the pressure.
