One of the biggest weaknesses of Treliving as GM is his coaching "search". He fired Hartley, at the time the only Flames coach ever won the Jack Adams trophy. Hire Gulutzen when other big name coaches were available. Then hire Peters without interviewing any other coaches. Name Ward the new coach only to see it blew up in his face. Then Flames ownership forced him to hire Sutter.

Change had to come. Keefe, good coach, but not good enough in the playoffs. Shanahan has to go too. And then the organization has to show they are serious for a cup run by making big hard decisions on roster changes. Marner is trade bait. Tavares relegated to 3rd line center and remove the C and give it to AM 34. Woll worries me because it seems he is injury prone. Berube is not the answer.

When are gms going to start being fired before coaches? Two examples. LA and Toronto. Both teams not assembled the right way yet coaches are let go. Giving insane contracts to couple of players and than not having supporting cast falls mostly on the gm. Oilers might be another team to fit into that category.
