Surprisingly, it's not a green screen hahaha a k-carat saw SVT's logo at a stadium before this ellen episode aired and they said its probably for the ellen show since thats the only logical schedule we could fit to the timing. Plus they also recorded a 'message to carats', i might get the video name wrong, but they recorded an interview with behind the scenes in the same arena ^^

Honestly since its all done remotely the svt team can control the production - especially the camera work (camera work of dance in western TV shows PISS ME OFF - except sytycd, maybe abdc). And they really delivered a top tier result Edit: I forgot about the award shows. That camera work is trash

technically all their western performances are still shot in Korea bc of covid and KCarats heard them rehearsing for this a couple months ago in an arena I think so the set is a real place not a green screen haha but as always thank you for sharing your reaction! (also SHINee had a comeback in February with Don't Call Me and they just released a mv for Atlantis their repackaged album so it would be great if you checked them out if you have time :D )

i know someone already said it but no that's not a greenscreen. during the mingyu situation a cubic (a going seventeen fan and not actually a fan of seventeen the group) snapped a grainy pic of their symbol that was on the stadium by their house. apparently it said "mv shooting" but it was for this. but yeah it almost looks fake because of how CRISP the quality is.

It's very probably not a green screen. A while back, when the whole Mingyu issue was going on and there was mostly radio silence, a K-Carat living close to that sports stadium reported seeing their logo on the screen and that apparently some kind of filming was going on. People speculated about a possible MV shoot at the time. However, that also makes me doubt your thinking about KPop groups on US TV shows a little bit. Before the pandemic I would have agreed, but nowadays it's not like they actually get to work with US TV crews. They basically just shoot the stuff in Korea and then send the footage over, so the crews working on it are most likely Korean as well. Unless you think that a US director comes up with the concept for the shows and then they film it according to instructions?

It's absolutely not a green screen, you can see them shooting in the stadium in their behind the scenes/interview for this performance. The weather was also freezing the day they shot this, so props to them for filming in such hard conditions
