No, he was actually insane for this. He learned it in two days and if you watch different Inside Seventeen episodes that have been released over the past few weeks, it's clear in the timeline that he had rehearsals for Tiger, World, and Cheers back to back in one day.

Hoshi just shows how much passion he has about tigers through this song, it's very strong for me and I love it. It's not just an obsession for the animal, but because he embodies the whole 'being a tiger' thing. like he believes he is an actual tiger, hence the gesture of the paws throughout the whole performance

our Korean Peninsula is known for its shape looking like a tiger (i think the three dancers in the beginning before Hoshi is raised, are kneeled in the shape of that tiger), and Korea is proud of its own breed of Tiger.. that’s why this song and chreo are much related to Korean traditional/cultural background. The first scene depicts a Korean traditional style painting, it seems to me, a Korean.

I don’t know if I’m right but the “olssu” part and the dance he did at the end where the backup dancers were surrounding him and he was dancing/waving his hand (not sure about the term) reminds me of Korean traditional dance I feel I saw in drama before. The intro music sounds very traditional Korean too, and what he’s wearing reminds me of a hanbok

as a viewer, i really, really loved all of the hand details Hoshi is doing in this choreo. because the music features some more traditional Korean elements, you can see him doing softer hands in some parts and it just looks so beautiful. i think it creates a nice contrast with the hard-hitting more martial-artsy moves [btw he's a black belt in taekwondo, makes sense]. my favorite part is towards the end when the dancers form a circle around him and Hoshi is just feeling himself in the middle, just flicking his wrists and smirking. i think he understands very well that he doesn't need to be moving and running around non-stop for the choreo to be interesting, he just goes in and out so well... also those bent-knee jumps they do with both feet at different speeds? they LOOK easy cause there's not to much elevation but i bet they're actually really hard :x i think the beauty of this choreo is that it might seem easy ("here's some arms, here's a little jump") but it's probably so exhausting to make every movement perfect and synchronized ooof. honestly my forearms burn just from watching what he does with his hands lol

also in case no one said it in the other comments, the tiger is actually Korea's official animal and is considered sacred, but sadly, tigers are supposedly extinct in Korea due to poaching. they appear a lot in Korean folklore. in the lyrics Hoshi actually says he's Korea's last tiger. i really liked the 'yes, i'm your father' in Tiger JK's lyrics cause he's obviously also using the same animal but belongs to an older generation of artists, so i liked the lineage concept they're playing with

I believe studio choom released a still-cam version so you can check it out if you haven't yet! And for sure, I feel like one of hoshi's concepts is more "elemental"-- his first unofficial solo was Hurricane, then Spider being his first solo mixtape. Hoshi dropping Tiger on global tiger day on the year of the tiger with Tiger JK who was born on global tiger day in the year of the tiger too (lol that's a lot of tiger in one sentence). I can't believe he technically had this song prepared for three years and only had 2 days for the choreo.

Here is the the focused version of Studio Choom. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3alf4lreq2Ip5Y My interpretation of the choreography is mostly during the 2nd chorus. The whole sequence reminded me of a Tiger's behaviour. In the 1st part of the chorus, he goes like he's hunting/ searching for his prey and the dancers run on around like those preys running in fear. Then he sort of hits the last two dancers who complete the circle on each side denoting he did cause injury to the preys running. Hoshi then smirks and races forward as if he has fixed his eye on the prey and ready to hunt down which he does and hunt it down. In the 2nd part of the chorus, it's just him done devouring his prey where he does a move of him wiping his mouth and then stands with pride to have won this for himself and his group of tigers. This is more like a competition between the head or the alphas? to prove their strength. Another thing which I noticed is the literal translation of the lyrics (more reasons why choreography/dance practice videos should have lyrics translation!). In your reaction video, at 5:08 or 5:09, the lyrics translate to "Open mouths! They all open and eat what they are holding". The lyrics are translated soo precisely in that part. One more interpretation of this performance as a whole is that it's like a declaration that he is ready to be enthroned as the Tiger King. Caratland has been going on and off and teasing him sometimes that he is a hamster which was the image he promote before he took up this image of tiger. Now he is loudly declaring that anyone can think he is whatever animal that they prefer him to be but for him, He is a brave, courageous, magestic Tiger and he doesn't care if others tell him otherwise. Enjoyed watching this choreography and finding those little details that the choreography team focused on and Hoshi delivering nothing less of what's expected. Pure bliss I would say.

Yaaassss!!! The Elliott reactions of SVT content keep comin! They really are keeping us fed right before their tour hits the NA! I also totally have to agree with you on the camera work aspect of the dance practice! I usually prefer dance practices because of their stable view of everything but never with Hoshi! I've noticed that Hoshi's two dance practices (Spider and Tiger) really emphasize the camera work to highlight the choreo (upside down cam, having the hands of the dancers frame the camera). It establishes such a tone and style and I'm truly all for it! Props to the camera workers too (especially when they need to lift those gigantic steady cams)!

3/4 years ago hoshi may not be able to execute these choreo like now because of the intense and hard hitting shoulder movements, those are full range shoulder motions with a lot of strength needed to be as sharp as possible. I'm so glad he's ripped and buff now 😭 i can't help but worry
