I have the book and I'm half way through it. It's a fantastic book. There is a paradigm shift going on and we as programmers are part of that. The safety behind Elm (and Rust) is what makes me love those languages. I think in 10 years things will be very different.

The book is excellent, I recommend it to anyone starting Elm and wanting to get productive really fast.

I love haskell and want to try elm as a react dev. Some of my concerns are related to elm lacking server side rendering. Or it seems to not be a good solution in this scenario. Do you have any thoughts on elm SSR? Love the talks!

I had a lot of fun during the holydays last year working my way through this book while drinking beer. What's next? Haskell in action by R Feldman? 🤞

I wonder how long Elm will live once more WASM frameworks start appearing...
@h3rteby4 жыл бұрын
Some day Elm might compile to WASM too. Many design decisions are actually based on not being tied to JS.

Elm is suffering because it's wardens don't want to listen to the community or let us tinker with it.
@noahjohnson26114 жыл бұрын
That's because Elm is a religion, not a framework. All hail Evan and his prophet Richard
@razzeeee3 жыл бұрын
What would you like to tinker with? Native code, that will break one of the core features?

ELM is such a pain. Nobody liked it in my previous organization.

What don't you like about Elm, I've been using for close to a year and it's been a pleasure compared with my time with Python. I'm mainly just curious.
