Juneteenth celebration honoring Elmer Lucille Allen with a Bronze Bust Unveiling held at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage. Elmer Lucille Allen is a Louisville hero who paved the way for women in science, arts, and community building. She was the first African American woman chemist at Brown Forman. After retirement she pursued her lifelong interest in art and textiles, ceramics and mixed media. The Bronze Bust acknowledges her tireless and selfless mentor and contributions to the community.
