People think the way Elmo says "Garlic" and "Vinegar" is his New York accent, but the puppeteer is a white guy from Philly. In one interview he says that because Elmo's voice is such a high register, it's hard for him to pronounce some words. AR sounds are hard because it requires your voice to go lower so that's why Elmo pronounces AR sounds like he's a black man from Brooklyn.

Brian A good host lets the guests do what they want if the guests know what they are doing. A good host makes sure the job at hand is done - what the guests are there for! (either the guests can handle it or they need help) & if they have time or if the guest is very good they let loose.
