People think the way Elmo says "Garlic" and "Vinegar" is his New York accent, but the puppeteer is a white guy from Philly. In one interview he says that because Elmo's voice is such a high register, it's hard for him to pronounce some words. AR sounds are hard because it requires your voice to go lower so that's why Elmo pronounces AR sounds like he's a black man from Brooklyn.

Didn't you notice that Elmo was spaced out?...Jimmy engaged him, asked stuff, but he was all over the place and they had only 3-4min for the seg, Jimmy was just trying to get through all they needed to get through & promote the book. It's not Jimmy's fault that Elmo wasn't doing his job & he had to step in...he's being a good host.
@Bsalty239 жыл бұрын
Voicu Violeta Lol, I'm surprised I'm even going to respond to this.. But a good host lets their guests do as they please. That 3-4 minutes was centered on that orange nosed noble creature. Jimmy should have diverted from the "status quo", and let Elmo bask in his own glory, however brief that may have been. Over 60% of the show is always Jimmy. While poor Elmo received a mere 0.5%. I demand JUSTICE.I demand REVENGE. I DEMAND.......... cookies. Fin.
@violeta5859 жыл бұрын
Brian A good host lets the guests do what they want if the guests know what they are doing. A good host makes sure the job at hand is done - what the guests are there for! (either the guests can handle it or they need help) & if they have time or if the guest is very good they let loose. Jimmy saved the ''orange nosed noble creature'''s ass, as he was clearly unprepared & didn't know what to do...Jimmy gave Elmo plenty of chances to chime in/take over.
@Bsalty239 жыл бұрын
Voicu Violeta Okay on a serious note, I'm not saying that Jimmy didn't give Elmo enough time to talk. I'm saying that several times when Elmo was trying to talk, Jimmy kept interrupting him. I was just fooling around in my last comment (if you couldn't tell), as I was speaking as if I was in the middle ages. And if Elmo was actually supposed to be prepared for such an interview, it wouldn't be an interview with Elmo. Elmo is random and is at best when he says things off the top of his head.
