Some facts about Jeff Lynne (ELO)...First, he is a very humble man, simply because this Music Genius is not interested in fame, the limelight, and money, he just loves to create great music. Jeff Lynne is one of the most versatile musicians ever, this is why he is considered by his peers to be among the greatest. He didn't stick to one style of music because, after decades, it gets boring. Jeff has done progressive Rock, Symphonic Rock - Pop, New wave, and Disco. Everything he does turns to gold. He even flirted with Country music. From 1972 to 1986 (During 14 years) Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra has had more top 40 hits than any other group in the world.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_Light_Orchestra_discography 50 years later they still play in sold-out Arenas, festivals and Stadiums. During Jeff Lynne's ELO 2019 Tour, many reviews agreed in saying they are the best live Classic Rock Band in the world still touring and Jeff Lynne is a Music Genius( From Forbes Magazine and the Washington Post). ELO is in the Rock Hall of Fame. Lynne is on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Birmingham Walk OF Fame. Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Songwriter award ( ASCAP ) in 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. In October of 2020, Jeff Lynne has been made an officer of The Order Of The British Empire for his extraordinary contribution to music. He previously has received three Ivor Novello Awards, which celebrate songwriters and composers, including the award for outstanding services to British music. He created the best Super Group of all time with his best friend George Harrison, The Traveling Wilburys. The Legends in the Music Industry call Jeff Lynne the best overall Musician ever and a Producer Extraordinaire. Jeff Lynne has written and produced many hit songs for music legends like George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Joe Walsh, Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, Del Shannon, the Everly Brothers, The Beatles, and so many others... www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/elo-jeff-lynne-awarded-obe-honor-services-to-music-queens-birthday-honours-1073850/

@@mickayres8786 Jeff Lynne is ELO sole composer, song writer and producer on all ELO albums. The numerous band members with him since ELO was formed have been great session musicians with very little or no input in the creative process. "10538" was originally supposed to be the 'B' side of The Move's "When Alice Comes Back To The Farm" single, it was recorded in July 1970. Roy Wood added several cello over dubs to it after the rest of the band went home for the night. When Jeff heard it the next day, he declared that was the sound of ELO, Jeff renamed it "10538 Overture" and the first ELO song was created. Another Jeff Lynne song "What" replaced "10538" as the 'B' side of When Alice.....

I can't imagine in this day and age why they wouldn't have the video in sync to the music. There's times he's standing playing but not singing, where we hear him singing. Great musical version, bad reflection on the video producers.

I do believe it was the backup singers singing as he played. Watched it on my 60" TV and couldn't see anything wrong with it.
@davidmuth45712 жыл бұрын
Jeff Lynne got into trouble for lip syncing in the late 70's. Concert attendance and album sales suffered for it. The best ELO concert is from the aborted Zoom tour. Worth having.
@garrywhite7123 Жыл бұрын
@@davidmuth4571 Brass Ring Productions, the promoters at the Pontiac Silverdome for the 2 August 1978 gigs tried to sue because they claimed ELO mimed and didn't play live. Back up tapes were used, as they are with many acts, especially for ELO who have such a sound its impossible to reproduce on stage. But the known facts are that these promoters put a lot on the line for these gigs and with ticket sales being less than expected lost money-so they tried however they could to recover losses. Outcome is unknown but it put an unfair blemish on the tour and the group as a touring outfit.

I think him and Lynne just didn't get along as there were two people who had strong views on the creative direction. Had he stayed, they likely would've fought and potentially gotten less done together, rather than Lynne alone. I believe this is partially what gifted us albums such as Out Of the Blue, New World Record, and Discovery.
