Keep in mind, Jeff Lynne is around 70 in this performance. How many 70 year olds can still churn out such brilliance that age? One of the most deserving bands ever to be inducted into the Rock Hall! Test drive Turn to Stone from the same concert.

ELO is definitely an attitude rather than a style, a song doesn't have to be "soul" to contain it, they are multi/cross genre.

"Big Wheel" by ELO is a slower song and ballet. It's my all-time favorite from the band. It's FIRE 🔥!!! And it's very deep. It's about self-inventory and after loosing everything, starting all over in your life from scratch. Really really emotional because I was homeless 9 years ago and now I'm in my own home, living life to its fullness.....Praising God and wonderful beautiful people like you who help me put my life together ❤ but kept me from homelessness. So, this song is very special to me and I request you react to it and pay close attention to the lyrics. Thank you for all your heart felt reaction. ❤ Love & Peace ✌...Anthony.

This is music of my childhood and I think you can agree that their music is quite timeless. it's why you see people of all ages in the audience. Their music hits everyone in special ways and you always wonder what sort of masterpiece Jeff is cooking up in that brilliant mind to offer the world next. The best ballad arguably that they have done is one called "Shangri-La". "Shangri-La" is a hauntingly beautiful ballad (not necessarily a power ballad) and I think everyone should hear this masterpiece of a song.

*"Evil Woman"* is a must, but please react to the studio cut first. Then in a separate reaction, do the song live from this same 2017 concert at Wembley. When grabbing a link to the studio cut, use the original album version, which has an image of an electric chair on the cover. Some reactors take it from compilation albums which came out later and it's not the full song.

First, for the first time! I had a ticket for ELO at the O2, 2020. Cancelled obviously, never put back on. In the last few years I've seen a few acts off my wish list , but Jeff remains near the top. As to slower, you could try a later song, Ticket To The Moon (though I don't think you'd find a live version). Another one from A New World Record, that might be considered a power ballad, is Shangri-La. (Strongly suggest the studio version of that, for reasons which will become clear.), The whole Wembley concert is amazing and I'm so jealous of those people in the audience.

Great reaction! I am SO glad you’re going on the journey that is ELO! I knew you’d love them! Out of the Blue is their double album, and when you get to it (although they are fantastic live at any age, I do recommend the studio version to hear their much younger voices and the stunning effects), I would recommend that you do the Concerto for a Rainy Day all in one long video. It’s best to listen to them in order and back to back - they flow from one to the next brilliantly. The Concerto starts with “Standin’ in the Rain,” flows into “Big Wheels,” moves into “Summer and Lightening,” and resolves in “Mr. Blue Sky.” It is a fantastic arrangement that will floor you!

This is an excellent live performance (wondering if they have the original recording overdubbed/playing in the background since it sounds so good). While I almost ALWAYS prefer the first listen to a song to be the most well known (and first-heard), studio recording this sounds amazing for a live production. However, you should then listen to the classic original recording from the late 1970s to compare how well they matched it not only live, but 40 frickin' years later!
