More Deep Purple!! Yes!! So glad you are getting to know them better. Younger people have to remember that even though I/we saw them Live in the early 70s these videos bring back memories because before the digital age we are in now these videos were not seen until recently. There were a few available on VHS I think, but I do not know for sure and unless they were on TV we never saw them performing. Thanks for the memories Elok and Deep Purple!

I love that you're getting to know more Deep Purple as well. This is instructive in that you notice that they have a breakdown section in which they are allowed to jam and play with dynamics as the mood strikes them. This would not be possible with a lot of modern bands which play under the tyranny of a MIDI click track. Basically, they are being conducted by a robot - that's not how music should be IMHO. Lotsa luv from me :-)

First time I see this live version of Demons Eye ! From Fireball, 1971, same year they did Strange Kind Of Woman…if you track down a copy of Made In Japan, please play it and absorb their incredible musicianship.

While this is one of the songs off of Machine Head, this German TV studio version is very interesting. I call this song a guilty pleasure because it's not one of their hit songs, but I really like it. I think Roger the bass player does a wonderful job. And Deep Purple was so popular in northern Europe in the 70's!
