Calling Elon a good businessman is like sitting down at a poker table where everyone has 1 chip except for the one guy who has all the other chips from the start of the game. When you have that much wealth, it's near impossible to fail at business because you can just buy your entire competition. So thanks for educating me on that ^^ My take on why he feels the need to show that he's the best : When you get accustomed to being the best, you hate being mediocre (mediocre as in median, medium, not bad but not good) Early in my scholarship, I was way better than anyone else, due to understanding things quickly, and having a really good memory and logical way of thinking. That made me one of the best in class. That lasted a bunch of years, and i got accustomed to it. When my grades started dropping, i found that i hated not being good, i despised being mediocre. Still today, i always fear of picking up a new hobby, because i will be bad at it first, and i truly hate this feeling. For Elon, he maybe never was really on the top, but he bought and lied his way through it, and now he's on the top of the economical world. Once you get accustomed to the top, you hate showing that you suck. For me, he feels the need to buy his way through the game and expose himself, just because he does not want to show himself being bad at something, because he doesn't like that feeling. All of that to say : dude's got too much ego to accept that he's not perfect

if someone knows what they're talking about, they don't jump to esoteric, advanced terms and technicalities. they actually keep it real simple usually. like, here's an example. i've got nearly 2000 hours in elden ring, and couldn't decide which route i wanted to do in an NPC quest (each one offers a mutually exclusive reward). so, i asked a friend who has similar hours which reward i should get. his response was two words, essentially just "get 'er", and that communicated everything we both needed for the interaction. the translation of "get 'er" into english would be "attack the NPC before you reach the end of the quest, since that's the fastest way to get the betrayal ending reward, which is the better reward". but he didn't need to say all that, because _we both have thousands of hours in elden ring,_ so we both know what "jump the NPC" means.

Elon has talked about wanting to buy Hasbro in order to buy DnD, but things like what he’s doing in Path of Exile 2, feel like they confirm my suspicions that even if he bought Dungeons and Dragons, no one would want to play with him without being paid or being ai. I cannot see this man putting in the time to learn his class (god help us all if he wanted to multiclass or homebrew), allow others to have the spotlight or not spend hours arguing with the DM over a rule he was wrong about to start. And if he wanted to DM, he’d only get players if they were bribed, forced or ai. Honestly there’s part of me that wants to feel bad for him. That looks at him and truly wants to feel some empathy because it’s clear how achingly lonely he is, because why else would he feel the need to tell lies like this? 🤷🏻‍♀️But he’s also such an entitled jerk and treats people so badly that I cannot muster even an atom of energy to care that he’s not happy.
