Its so cruel that such a huge channel is attacking smaller creators, especially those behind something without any official backing, written in half an hour, on toilet paper, by a dyslexic toddler, who was trying to write a joke. Seriously. Low hanging fruit, my guy.

At the very end of the video, Cody actually puts out a very good question: Why is it called “Uprising”? Who is doing the uprising? What is the uprising? With how the plot goes, it doesn’t really make any sense!

My idea for a secuel was to have Jaeger from different countries fighting in wars, like, now that there's no more alien menaces we get to fight each other with our knew toys, then aliens come back stronger and we have to unite to defeat them in a huge battle in which a lot of different jeagers of different countries fight. Reminding you in the first movie the rest of the world gave up and proceeded to build a 'uge wall, so in my mind it would have made sense to NOW have the countries of the pacific to cooperate (thinking that they would have made more jaegers by that point so that would not be a problem). It could have been a little deeper with some political storytelling, while maintaining the action at the climax.
@ArcologyCrab-gq9ubКүн бұрын
The aliens could also come out of the atlantic, so we could get European, African, and South American Jaegers. Call it Atlanti- I mean Pacific Rim: the Atlantic Rift.
@charliebal4548Күн бұрын
@ArcologyCrab-gq9ub yeah they could be coming from everywhere, like at the end of the first we didn't defeat them, we just pissed them off, which makes sense, for a multidimensional species to be defeated by a tiny nuke makes no sense. It could be Pacific Rim: World War Kaiju

Imagine being handed the reigns to a kingdom, and the previous king says "I trust and respect your vision... But don't copy me." AND YOU JUST HAVE TO ACCEPT IT. I do not envy anyone who has to follow a great director because YOU WILL FAIL 99.99% of the time. Basically every remake supports this, the only exceptions being studios that can pump out an infinite amount of money into anything even if it fails (I'm a fan of all three Spider-Man series, but you can see by the fact there's multiple attempts at making a series before they managed to intertwine their wants with the overall story they were building at the time. They did a good job with No Way Home, but where do they go from here? Probably nowhere and they reboot AGAIN)
@BramTheDemonКүн бұрын
Going off that ending scene, Del Toro certainly has an imagination. XD To be fair, this was most likely a very early idea that wouldn't have made it into the movie in the first place. The description seems way too slapped together to be an actual plot summary. But yeah, not exactly the best sequel. I don't hate it as much as I did back then, but it's still not good. Also, apparently Del Toro wanted a crossover with the Legendary Godzilla...that would have been interesting.

The only thing I remember about this movie was watching it with the family and a late family friend, all of us wondering why the Kaiju were even coming to Earth anyway, and said friend responding with "they came for the gas and oil" 😂 It is actually my most prominent memory of him, and thus the only thing that kept me from forgetting this movie even existed in the first place

I swear Del Toro is the type of creator who is meant to be making one thing then move on to the next. He is never meant to make a sequel to anything. This is really shows when he was chosen for the Hobbit movie where he said he can only make one movie much of the chagrin of the studio wanting 3 till they have to get Peter Jackson again.

Hey, chill guy. there's a post credit scene in the Pointless Hub video/s. Marvel should hard-wire us more to wait for the post credit scenes. XD Love your videos and your commentary. On a personal level, as someone who watched this movie when it first came out, I kinda enjoyed it (put down the pitchforks, people). Till this day I always forget the drones plotline and the ceo. but I remember fondly the bad Jaeger's design, and ... umm .. Charlie Day's day as a wacky over-the-top insane bad guy. I laughed so much and I still find his character in PR2 memorable. For me, I like to like stuff. Except for the Borderlands movie. that one hurt me deep.

As someone who enjoyed Trollhunters, a Netflix series Del Toro created, and hated the movie that capped off that franchise, which he co-wrote, Del Toro's weird pitch for Pacific Rim 2 seems like something he'd genuinely do.

Yknow, it wouldve been better if the pasific rim 2 goes like: There was a time mars habitable, the alien live there. But the alien soon realize its about to be not habitable. They decided to do some gene modification on their own so some of them can live a long long time without anything. Which later be send to another planet. So some aliens go to the next soon to be habitable and some of them go live underground of mars with limited resource, mouth to feed, etc. The aliens has power to share memories, so the knowledge is pass one to another. To make low on food problem less problematic, the old alien pass their memories and get cannibalized. And some aliens like the kaiju get inside a freezers The aliens that goes to another planet is planning to build the rift/wormhole that would connected to mars. Just to take the planet for their own. For safety check, they sends the kaiju. The end.

33:43 I felt so alone actually liking Joss Whedon’s Justice League, especially when Zack Snyder’s version came out. It’s not a perfect movie, but after seeing what Snyder’s version looked like, I definitely appreciated it more, trimming a lot of unnecessary fat, actually making Superman feel like Superman, etc. Dude was just working with what he was given. There’s plenty of reasons to hate Whedon, but Justice League is not one of them.

Mechs and other mechanical vehicles like , fighter jets, helicopters have pilots. To be fair in PF2, the kaju hijacked can be classified as " robots " since they are controlled by organic A.I mind stuff. Also! The second movie should have had more weight and similar tone/ atmosphere as the first even if the first batch of kaiju were gutted.

No, we understand. It's just a poorly executed element in a bad sequel.
@EnTiDDiesКүн бұрын
@lucasgiraldo9791 what other way would one do it? Aside from showing the inexperienced trainees, by making them reckless and learn what they can possibly can within a movie 's length. It's literally in literature EXCEPT in Japanese shonen manga, where the characters become as strong as the professionals who trained for their entire lives. Tf? So a story goes in a predictable way, you groan. And when they try something new, you people STILL complain? Ew
