What does Libertarianism has to do with this? Most of these crony capitalist doesn't follow libertarian ideals, they are simply exploiting the corruption within an authoritarian government. These wealthy elites owns the politicians and runs the government as puppet master to enrich themselves and go as far as starting wars to expand their global control. A libertarian society would not have allow them to do so. Because without Government threats, these wealthy elites would not have any significant control over resources and manpower within a libertarian society. In other words, amassing wealth or retaining wealth in a libertarian society would not be so easy without the use of government regulations to stop individuals from directly competing. There are rules within the libertarian society that does not permit wealth as a means to exploit or harm another man for example, you can't buy up all the land. This is a violation of their human rights to property. In a crony capitalist society, the rich man can do as they please, buy up all the land, use government to enforce their control and the courts are in their pockets so they are above the law. That is the opposite of a libertarian society where the Bill of Rights that protects your right to land and use such land to make a living cannot be infringe upon. A Libertarian society focusing on limiting the power of Government and thus indirectly limiting the power of the wealthy.
