Brazil is not antagonistic to Russia. Doesn't mean it is hostile to the US, even after all the coups and turmoil that the us sponsored in Brazil. Brazil for 200 years tries (albeit with difficulty under the US influence and power in South America) to be its own thing and walk its own path. Always tries to negotiate and goes for arbitration in international affairs. Even if that guy tosses out the occasional poll - and even if he honoured the outcome of those polls - it would still have the structure and the values of a dictatorship. I think Musk defenders prefer to have these big abstract debates about philosophies and values of the company rather than talking about details, partly because talking about details requires actual knowledge, partly because all of the details are terrible, and partly to keep everything in this hypothetical space where what actually happens is irrelevant compared to what *could* happen.

In the US, and practically all the European Countries there's freedom of speech. Tesla stock does not keep going up. It reached its highest peak in value back in the last quarter of 2021, just before Musk acquired Twitter. It hit its lowest point in 2023 when the stock value dropped to lower than half of its peak value, and though it's on an upward trend now, it still is only worth about 60-70% of its peak value. So, contrary to what you might think, no, showing yourself to be a petty, insecure megalomaniac actually isn't the best way to ensure shareholders confidence in your other business ventures.
