Elon Musk recently announced that he's planning to build a much better telescope than the James Webb telescope. Dubbed the Nancy Grace Roman telescope, it will be 100 times more powerful than James Webb and able to see farther into space. Some people are excited by this news, while others are concerned about the cost and whether or not it's even feasible. So, who's right? And what does this mean for the future of astronomy?
NASA gave a new contract to Elon Musk's space company, (SpaceX), to launch the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on July 19. SpaceX is progressing in rocket launches and landings and beaming the internet from space.

Click bait title filled with misleading data. NASA contracted SpaceX for launch services of their Nancy Grace Roman telescope. The NGRT is what is known as a survey telescope. It is used to take large pictures of the sky. It is relatively small, the same size as the Hubble Space Telescope, but with a shorter focal length and hence a wider field of view. It is not 100x better than James Webb. The NGRT will be equipped with a 300.8-megapixel multi-band visible and near-infrared camera, providing a sharpness of images comparable to that achieved by the Hubble Space Telescope over a 0.28 square degree field of view, 100 times larger than imaging cameras on the Hubble. Most large telescopes like the JWST get paired with a survey telescope to help it find interesting objects for it to use it's enormous mirrors but narrower field view most productively.
