People's concerns are valid but the beeds to move away from prescription drugs that are arguably more harmful than a bci that could give us function back. It's not mandatory, If there's nothing wrong with you, you don't have to get it. I'm willing to take my chances at this point. I need to have faith, and there are no underlining nefarious intentions.

I have severe TBI and I've had 4 Strokes. I'm only 31 and sometimes I forget my sons name. It's easy for people to say they would never do that, but when there's a technology that could help you remember and not constantly have everything so foggy and clustered, to where you can have a string of thoughts and remember for people like me that was hit by an IED or had a severe car accident, I'm going to take my chances and hope it doesn't get hacked.

U don't need a chip I your brain to fully recover though.. The brain is extremely powerful on its own and the fact u have had 4 strokes and you're still able to communicate through comments on KZbin just shows how strong the brain is and how no matter what happens, if the brains alive the body can heal, completely. We are just told we need to rely on these "drugs" the Doctors give us to get better but all it does is keep u trapped and makes u dependent on that drug. The brain doesn't need a chip to heal the entire body. Also people are getting sick due to what they eat, breathe, rub on their skin not just because "oh I just have bad luck".

I like Neal Shusterman’s version of an AI in his Scythe series. It is a great preview of how humans could benefit from an AI that keeps society fed, entertained, and sustainably living. In that series humans only work if they want to, no one goes hungry, and everyone has enough room by building living areas above and below the planet’s surface. An advanced AI could take care of humanity much better than governments run by humans.

would suggest you thoroughly evaluate the companies you have invested in and their estimated future performance, as we may expect to see the market decline further. To minimize stress and improve efficiency, it might be wise to seek the assistance of an investment advisor to help restructure your portfolio and identify any underperforming investments to offset. This approach has been successful for me and has reduced my stress levels.

The issue with the future versions of Neuralink is when Governments and Companies/Corporations/Organizations begin to make it so that daily life must be experienced through the digital realm for a human to improve their livelihood. Currently in the real world we humans have a hybrid lifestyle with the digital world but as more things become "digitized" it will be less and less likely for anyone to earn a living without being connected and once there are more Neuralink like devices that become more than just helping people improve functions but actually replaces cell phones and is the new common device that you just have to have in order to have a career, a following, entertainment, you name it.. That’s when it becomes a concerning thing because as we see repeatedly, these governments always ruin great ideas for the average human.

I think it's far more likely that AI will replace most jobs long before you need to worry about needing neurolink for one. By the time this goes mainstream we're looking at 30years or more from now. At that point it will probably look nothing like this early version. It may just be a hat you wear. Or be incorporated into a VR headset, maybe just a little stick on sensor you place on your temple. Keep in mind Technology doesn't go mainstream untill a large majority of the population actually want it.

@@tedstersscience1637 Security through obscurity has never been a successful long-term strategy. And no, it wouldn't lead to a "shit ton of security issues", this is a lie that has been spread by all the tech giants to justify their actions for profit, which is fine, but it's just not true. Look at what happened with the rise of social media and smartphones. Everyone is spying on everyone else and it's getting so bad that there's a massive security breach every other day. Do you not realise that we're making the same mistake here? Proprietary technologies are always abused, but the stakes are much, much higher with this. Even Musk agrees. He originally put money in OpenAI because of their mission to stay "open source" (hence their name) and non-profit, but they backed out of that entire ideology when they realised they would could make a shit ton of money and have a lot of power over people, and now Musk speaks out against them. Many of the scary elements like mind control seem unlikely, but the vulnerability of the device is much scarier. Through the bandwidth, what can be done by a hacker? Simply add the most miniscule of changes to the neuralink is scary just to think about. Brain death? Over stimulate something in your head? I share all the concerns related to this project, however, as a man who 6 months ago lost power in his left leg due to an accident (nerve damage), neuralink is my only chance to get out of the wheelchair. I don't care if someone hacks the chip - I have little to lose.

Very important perspective. It’s easy to be able-bodied and remain fearful, but for someone disabled this is a dream come true .

I think no one would deny those who need/want the chip for health and other purposes. It's more like the population who technically don't need it don't want to have the chip almost "pushed" onto them against their will.

It can heal buddy, people after accidents doctors told them they will be vegetables or wte and with will power and belief they completely recovered. You choose in what you put your belief and energy, put the chip its your choice

My main concern is that there is currently an air gap between my computer and my brain. Neuralink removes that safety measure, allowing hackers direct access to the brain.

OK, so how are they going to hack it if its a closed network?

@@cameronmmj9291 Is it a closed network? I thought the whole point was to eventually have it connect to the internet. Anything that's connected to the internet can be hacked.

@@mattl7854not really that’s not how hacking works hacking works by attacking the source code like every phone has lots of important information in the cloud they use that info to break into the phone you might give them access by accident in crappy websites but in here the cloud or source is your brain so you will need to do the hypothetical bio hacking which doesn’t currently exist but it might become a thing

He dodged your question about the long goal. But there’s info online with him saying we ALL will *need* N-link to “survive against AI”. So he clearly anticipates all of us receiving it at some point. It’s optional.. until it’s not.
