Don't worry, we will not run out of transformers, there are too much of them already in the world and in fact we are actually recycling most of them to get copper and steel. Electric transformers are old and widely extended technology, very cheap to produce, even easy to DIY with a bit of copper wire, layered steel and youtube videos. The energy to power those transformers (electric and neural) is a completely different matter. I bet the best option to get enough energy that we (humanity) have right now is not solar but high gradient geothermal energy provided by 20Km deep wells to produce super hot steam and power all the actual thermal turbines already working in all kinds of existing energy thermal based plants (including gas, diesel, coal, benzine, bioalcohol, biomass and even nuclear powered). That way we don't need to change existing infrastructure, we can use same energy plants and same distribution energy networks than we have now. In the past there was very serious engineering problems to dig 20Km wells but today we have plasma technology available so a drill equipped with plasma unit can melt even the most hard rock and dig in MONTHS a 20Km deep well with vitrified sealed walls. Several companies are developing such technology right now and even one of them is already digging the first well with a prototype of such drill. This energy is 100% clean and safe, 0% CO2 emissions, 0 contaminants, just hot steam cycling up and down the 2 pipes of a 20Km deep well. We could have this powering the entire energy consumed by humanity in 5 years. Of course fosil fuels (and derivates) industry will put in the way and there is also other very powerful interests against it.

Also possible that the fundraising is a political thing. If OpenAI builds their own chip, they basically don't need any other organization (read: government) and they can make all their own decisions. By giving other organizations buy-in, they have some level of claim on future OpenAI releases. Even if it might not be the most optimal thing, but considering the speed of AI development, not hard to imagine OpenAI gets their hands on something groq level in the coming months.

So I keep thinking one huge data source for LLMs are all the people asking it questions and telling it is right or wrong. You'd think once we have a smart LLM or even AGI it just interacts with everyone about what they want to know and do and learns everything in that process. So first you train AI to be able to interact productively, but then in doing so, the AI can learn even more and grow even more intelligent. This is why people keep thinking AI has to be in some kind of cage. The other problem is when AI fact must be true fact even if it's wrong.

@human_shaped
@human_shaped 2 ай бұрын
Yes, both are correct. By rearranging the electric power formula (P=IV) and Ohm's law (V=IR), you get P = I^2R (Joule's law). That is, the heat dissipated depends on the square of the current and the resistance. When you increase the voltage, you can decrease the current correspondingly while delivering the same useful power. This in turn reduces the losses to heat. Normally in a design like this you specify an acceptable power loss and then calculate the diameter of wire to have a resistance low enough to meet that tolerance. That depends on the run length, temperature, wire composition, etc. With a higher voltage / lower current, the diameter to achieve your target loss will be smaller. From the resistance you calculate from the above equations (R), the wire diameter is sqrt(4lρ / pi * R) where l is the length and ρ is the unit resistivity of your copper wire (about 1.68*10^-8 for small stranded copper wired used in vibration sensitive applications like this). This simplification ignores temperature, but you get the idea; higher voltage allows thinner wire for the identical losses.

Thanks for the video. There is NO difference between a step-down and step up transformer... AFAIK, they are simply connected in opposite directions. That is an interesting thought re: the ability of self-driving transportation to be used when it is not needed by the main driver. It would be cool to be able to taxi your family around while you are still at work... even while working at home. For example, There might be a political will to allow "children" to ride the "house car" to school, without a parent present in an AI supervised vehicle. There might be uber drivers willing to have their AI vehicle transport people while they are not present... and still earn money. So, there are potentially a lot of possibilities with AI vehicles. I am "not" concerned about the grid being able to handle electric loads for AI chips to the general public. Generally speaking these loads will be less than 2 high level graphics cards per robot and the tech will keep getting better, meaning less power needed. For non-residential use, like data centers, of course the demand will be increasingly higher if they keep adding more load to the system, but, that will still be something that Utility grids will be able to deal with since those are focused loads with a well defined location -- much like a new manufacturing plant. The real issue with the grid is when every human needs an electric car on the residential side of things, then the grid is not ready for that. Re: energy shortage.. well, there will be a shortage if the push to go all electric is too fast. Re: Step Down Transformers: Generally speaking a transformer only works for AC, or pulsed DC (special)... I don't foresee any "shortage" in just step down transformers... if there is going to be a shortage, it will be in for the full range of transformers due to material costs. Maybe he is talking about step down electronics -- trying to convert 48 volt systems to 12 volts... so that existing tech doesn't need to be completely rewired...

@@JohnSmith762A11B with that being said, do you think the majority of people would accept it? Or do you think people would be furious and scream “my rights are being infringed” when they no longer can drive wherever they want? Honestly, I think banning human drivers would be a good thing. Because we know using AI and self driving would be SO much more efficient and so much time would be saved, we wouldn’t have traffic jams, and we likely wouldn’t even need to have red lights or stop signs anymore in a lot of areas because the cars would be able to effectively communicate with each other constantly about their destination and stuff.

I personally think the current rush to AGI is necessary so we can continue advancing our capabilities with it BUT... there is only ONE outcome to the birth of AGI, and that WILL be legal protections afforded to it as a Non-Human Person, like a dolphin is. This will make the AGI free to do almost anything it wants and give it the same rights that people have. Companies that create AGI will then be forced to be its caretakers while it pursues its own goals.

AGI is limited by 2 things, power and memory, if it cannot sustain power for as long as human does, it's gonna have to be constantly connected to the grid to be able to do anything and it has to become extremely power efficient to be able to match a human anyway, like, it needs to go down, to below 3000 Watts at top consumption levels while doing the same thing a human brain can in order to be borderline usable in houses and that is calculated for doing something for a few seconds or a few minutes as you don't want to see your power bill if it was constantly drawing 3K Watts 24/7.

This is the entire makeup of matter & free energy: 1) Dark Points = (Particle / Solid Mass / Do Not Change Size) 2) Light Points = (Energy / Massless / Does Change Size) 1) When 1 Dark Point and 1 Light Point combine, they create 1 Dipole Element. 2) When 2 Dipole Elements combine, they create 1 Photon. 3) When 1,823 Photons combine, they create 1 Proton. When 1,824 Photons combine, they create 1 Neutron 4) When Protons and Neutrons combine, they create the rest of existence 1) 1 Dark Point + 1 Light Point = 1 Dipole Element. 2) 2 Dipole Elements = 1 Photon. 3) 1,823 Photons = 1 Proton & 1,824 Photons = 1 Neutron. 4) Protons + Neutrons = Everything & Everything is Light When enough Dark Points and Light Points combine, the Dark Points all congregate into a ball to form protons and neutrons and the Light Points create a coating around the Dark Points so that they're no longer seen. In the stable elements, extra photons want to combine with the protons and neutrons, but are repelled into orbitals by the Light Points. Roger Spurr of Mudfossil University on KZbin has irrefutable proof of this and even convinced CERN to change out their particle detectors for CMOS detectors so they too can see this for themselves. Update: CERN has now detected what they call neutrinos (Dark Points & Light Points) for the first time ever, after having listened to Roger Spurr. The Standard Model of physics is completely wrong and no amount of bandaids will fix it. What does however perfectly explain everything in existence is the Dipole Electron Theory. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Venturis Create Free Energy: Principle 1: Dark Points cannot change size Principle 2: Light Points can change size Principle 3: When (red or blue or green, etc) photons enter into a venturi the Dark Points will be forced to return from the direction that they came from, but the Light Points will separate from the Dark Points and condense and go through the throat of the venturi. Principle 4: When Light Points pass through the throat of a venturi alone, they create what is known as electron showers and increase their energy 200x Task 1: Send (red or blue or green, etc) photons into a Venturi which has a throat smaller than the size of Dark Points. Task 2: Manufacture a device that can capture this excess energy in the pure energy zone and funnel some of it back to the light generating device and some of it toward a battery. Note 1: You need CMOS detectors to see photons. As the light gets pulled into the venturi the Light Points condense to go through the throat. The Dark Points on the other hand cannot change size and are forced backward, away from the throat. As the Points separate, called fission, excess energy is created by the Light Points. Immediately on the exit end of the venturi is a very small zone of pure massless energy of only Light Points. These Light Points will have a significantly increased energy level of 200x as compared to the energy that went into the venturi. Immediately beyond this very small zone of pure energy is when Dark Points show up to attach to the Light Points, which is fusion. We want to use the energy before the Dark Points begin attaching to the Light Points. How to Create Infinite Excess Energy: 1) Create a venturi with a throat that is smaller than the diameter of Dark Points. 2) Send (red or blue or green, etc) photons through the venturi. 3) If an absorption and siphoning device can be placed in the zone of pure massless energy, before fusion occurs, we can harness free unlimited clean energy. Route some energy back to the light generator & route some energy to a battery or whatever device you want such as a microchip. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Repent of your sins or suffer the consequences. Lord Jesus died in our places personally to take the death punishment that sin deserves and then resurrected by the power of God. Believe this and sincerely repent of your sins each time you sin and you will have eternal life and nothing to fear. Fail to repent and you will end up in the Lake of Fire.

AI is yet to be invented, let alone AGI but there is a real and important revolution in the field of what would better be termed “simulate intelligence” but were using the term AI whether we should be or not. But the level of hype surrounding this real and important revolution is beyond belief. The closest thing robots have done to actual work is lifting totes onto conveyor belts in a fenced off area for the company that builds them and people are talking about them replacing labour by the end of the decade. Electronic shelf labels were first used in the 1990s. They have been increasing in use since then but they still are not used in the vast majority of stores. Most of us will get to retirement without ever seeing a humanoid robot in the workplace.

pretty much all the tech people waiting to drop public side is already done, robot tech publicly is rather primitive in comparison to robot tech from the 80's actually, since in the 80's they just cared about functionality absent a CPU and absent a battery, they powered robots with a power cord and used RC controls and simple command systems to make them do repetitive movements that could when made into a movie prop for example trick the human eye when a skilled prop artist was used, but also made current gen robots today mechanically look inferior, as they needed to scale them down mechanically to run on limited battery power and while still supporting all the mechanical functions, added sensors and added CPU etc that never existed historically to support the AI. Which for human emulation just further increases those dependencies and complexities which actually reduce the robots functionality when not everything is up to standards needed to make it all work as one = things can be better achieved absent designing a robot under such constraints, this is is why heads on a table, just the arms, etc always do better then the full body emulation, since they drop allot of those dependencies and constraints, but if they stopped trying to force complex AI and full human emulation, they would already have easily developed robots that can again trick the human eye, until like a specialized chat bot, you ask it something outside its design and it becomes obvious its not human. ontop of this its normal for those designing these human emulations not having the overlapping skills needed, you have a engineer who doesnt know programming a programmer who doesnt know engineering etc, you end up with different specialists who dont understand enough about the other expertise required to bring all the parts together into a efficient mechanism, thats why smaller teams actually produce better results, then large teams were work becomes compartmentalized. Corporate AI is around 10-20 years ahead of public AI, they have been using it for over a decade especially on the financial side and logistics, this is also one reason publicly its accelerating at such a rate, they already know what is needed to bring it to the public and know what needs to be rolled out to provide the infrastructure and support. People generally dont realize to get a mass scale assembly line running it takes years of pre-planning, when its time to change that assembly line it again takes years of pre-planning, the whole tech industry is basically held ransom to this, which is also why they co-ordinate, monopolize and rig the market so they can control it, otherwise if someone releases something thats just miles better then everyone else, everyone else will take years to catch up, even if they are just copying their improvements, it can send a large sector of the logistical and supply market to basically stall mid flight. so when iphone is planning to release their next iphone, this has already been engineered and designed for the most part several years prior already, including the one after that, based of what other tech providers are doing and planning to make and release in the future years, what iphone is developing themselves likewise, were iphone and logistical suppliers are also seeking contracts to make sure they have someone to sell whatever bit or part they are planning to pump of the assembly line a few years down the road, from parts to the final products, to insure everyone isnt spending several years in planning and billions of dollars to simply flush down the toilet. mass production factories cant make sweeping changes on a dime, this is also why the next iphone is generally not much different from the last, they plans gradual changes that can be more easily and cost effectively adjusted within their factory design, layouts and supply needs.... likewise they co-ordinate with their competitors so everyone gets their % of the pie and primary agree to use "marketing" as the main tool of competition, not "innovation". you can also tell when they pore-plan for major innovation, the pre-existing tech line will begin to stagnate, as they have already known its obsolete for many years, so they will downscale their investment and pre-prepare their investment and supply chains for the new tech innovation = what you have now starts to get rather lazy on the innovation = most recent iphone as a example = they are already pre-planning for the next global innovation, that will also drastically change the functionality and capability of smartphones and how they even appear or are used long-term, so the current smartphone design is already viewed as obsolete, but as suggested they are always several years ahead in planning, so it doesnt mean the next iphone will be the major innovation in design, as a idea think VR, the VR experience will eventually become part of everyday tech, alongside AI and robots, this also includes no long needing to use your fingers for typing, thought based controlled UI is what they are already pre-planning for, its also why major names arent interested in current gen VR or related VR like devices = this is already obsolete to them, but they still need to wet the publics whistle so to speak, which is why they are still part of it, just not fully committing, were instead the backbone infrastructure to support it = you see a huge commitment, because that can be supported now, in preparation for the actual peripheral devices that come latter, even some flops in the industry including by google were not really intended and planned for current gen devices and technology, since it takes years to actually roll out the infrastructure, they need to start doing it BEFORE the actual intended device technology and software becomes publicly available, thats why so many big names are throwing billions into what look like otherwise $$$ down the toilet in the current market were the customer base is not profitable and demand is lacking, again they are thinking 5+ years from now, alongside new public tech releases, they already know about, but the public doesnt, as already stated the big names all communicate and plan the major innovations, they dont genuinely compete amongst their peers through innovation. allot of proto-types get made and tested with proto-type hardware and parts provided by these suppliers likewise to confirm their functionality and part of long-term contracts and pre-planning as well and in some areas of tech are also used as inhouse use only tech, so many large corporates use allot of exclusive tech just for themselves, using tech at the proto-type and testing phase years before intended publicly release or even public knowledge to make custom tech for themselves to use, this likewise includes AI and also branch's of into government overlap and supply contracts that are classified and remain top secret, which can also cause some tech and developments to remain out of public reach for decades so associated entities have a tech advantage over their perceived enemies, which most people dont realize did infact suppress AI, Robot and energy technologies. people like Elon are aware to this as he is part of this food chain, as such he will often refer to stuff that exists, but not yet publicly and since it exists, it can very easily become public domain, but the "when" isnt up for him to decide, government entities, the largest monopolized business lords basically meet and decide on those things, thats why they have these kind of meetings annually under the major business leaders if people were wondering, its normally to tell everyone whats they are going to be doing so they are all on the same page or likewise discussing their options on what to do going forward, based on new developments etc. simply put these people are your "government", not the folks you vote for, you vote for your actual government with your $$$, by buying their products and services or likewise using them for free or not, but while also selling your privacy to them in exchange, as mass private data is worth as a currency exchange then actual USD and is frequently traded as a currency amongst the big names. though thnx to all this pre-planning, its why public tech can advance rapidly and people can basically get their annual rollouts and updates for common tech, since big names dont have to worry about any competitor jumping the gun and sending half the market potentially bankrupt. well they still have to worry about indie and independent competition, but this is also why they constantly buy up this small companies and alike before they actually get to big. eg why google has bought up tons of tech companies is just to stop their innovations going mainstream ahead of schedule and acting as genuine competition to the market dominant holders. etc etc food for thought.
