The reality is that it is being operated in a private arena with pre-determined routes and without traffic interruption. It is NOT the reality. Per Elon's history, he is way far off of his prediction and promises. My wife's Model Y Performance had FSD engaged at 6:45pm this evening while driving towards the direct sunlight during sunset. The car suddenly warned "Take Control Immediately". I think I am the only one who is skeptical of a camera-only based FSD system.

I'm not sure, part of why people wanna drive is because of the feeling of freedom it gives. If everything becomes automated that will disappear and it'll just end up being private public transport. The idea is cool, it may solve a problem, but it'll cost us a little more freedom. Definitely impressive, but I see a few negatives. I actually like driving, especially manual. Imo the better solution would be free public transport which could be fully electric and automated.

This obviously isn’t a world wide vision he’s speaking on, only would work for huge cities like Los Angeles, New York, Washington, etc. in USA. I live in Northern Ontario Canada and this will never be… typical middle class family owns two vehicles, a truck and an SUV or car. We drive long distances in extreme weather that changes constantly, plus our infrastructure internationally is spread thin, plus our economy is driven by hunting, fishing, camping, and outdoor recreations. We have logging, oil sands, trucking, mining, fishing, asphalt paving, concrete, construction and many other heavy duty industries that need to operate in our climate and infrastructure. Just don’t see any of this happening for 100 years and beyond
