Of course- Waymo shows that ride hailing works but because it’s expensive and geofenced it is not real cost effective, Tesla is not geofenced and will be very cheap as autonomous vehicle, it’s the real deal.

Back around 2019 Ark/Cathie had a Tesla price target of about $3000 (with a bear case of $1500) and expected it to hit that in 2024. Now she’s saying $2900 in 2029? Why doesn’t she try more modest price targets.

Kathy wood is speaking nonsense here. Inflation of the kind that hurts the people who voted for Trump a second time... Is mostly felt in the grocery store and in the dollar store. Guess what?, Trump placing tariffs on Chinese imports only makes things more expensive in the dollar store which immediately impacts the people who voted for Trump. For the grocery store, those items which are shipped from any country that is a recipient of a tariff. Those items are also going to see price hikes instantly, not after sometime instantly. So not only is food going to become more expensive, but the many little cheap items that people rely on that come from China are also going to become more expensive... None of this stuff is going to be aided by innovation being applied to those supply chains at least not in the next 4 years... One could conceivably think of the efficiency improvement from autonomous transport aiding in the reduction of prices for all items shipped in general. But Trump has already said that he's not a big fan of electrification and autonomy even though Elon spent 80 million putting him in office. I sure want Kathy to be right across the board but she's not for the main issues I just pointed out which are going to be acutely felt by the people who chose fascism over freedom. And they deserve every ounce of pain that's coming.

I do agree that tarrif can be a double edge sword, but mostly it will be for China factories from Mexico shipping cheap cars and products avoiding all tarrifs making American companies not competitive. Medium to long term it will pay off. Short term... We'll see. Btw she's entirely right about trump admin..
