When Musk said "I lost this one" in an article (dont remember the source or exact quote sadly) that was pretty telling how Vivian was just somekind of investment for him. Also connected to how transphobes obsess over trans bodies fertility since they see kids as genetic investments.

I think it was on some more news where Cody made a joke about Elon Musk increasing twitter transparency, being that he is the parent of a trans person who hates him
@aleksabanjevic8316Ай бұрын
I once had an argument, way back, when I was less informed about stuff, with a guy and I said that musk isn't pro lgbt, and that person I was arguing said, "that can't be, he has a trans kid" and I was like "oh, maybe I was wrong"..... Too bad that person skipped over the part where his child doesn't get alomg with him specifically because of his views on people like her. But then again, that person is one of those "I'm not treating you like the person you are, deadnaming, misgendering you and taking my kids on the other side of the street, and firing you for asking others to respect ur pronouns isn't bad, it's just my opinion that your existence is invalid, we can still be friends" so yeah, he likely doesn't see musk as the bad one in the situation, and the fact he didn't literally end his child's life over it as "good enough"

On the streamer vs video essayist conflict, I think it started with other conflicts, where the creators participating in those conflicts were disparaging each other's medium of choice.

Here come all the muskys trying to say that u are yall are bad cuz ya ain't rich like him.... Despite them also not being rich, almost like his wealth has nothing to do with his qualities, like most rich ppl, and he just has a rich dad. Love when ppl use success as a mark of someone being actually better in all human traits, successes null in a corrupt society.

The divide between streamers and video essayist could more accurately be described as a divide between debaters and video essayists. And the divide came around because a lot of video essayist started saying that left wing debaters were harmful to the movement in various ways. Which I found really annoying. I remember what the internet was like during the GamerGate era. I saw huge right wing channels debate youtube channels with a small fraction of their subscribers and bully them off the platform. I saw the constant pushy "Debate me bro, debate me." That stopped because the left wing debaters came to prominence. And now right wing channels are so often scared to debate anyone because they know that the debaters are just waiting to pounce. Vaush wrecked Sargon of Akkad in a debate so hard that Sargon announced that he'd stop doing debates because "My opponents are just clout sharking". And other youtuber preemptively made videos saying they would never debate Vaush. They got like legit scared of him and others like him. Video essayist and debaters are both vital to the ecosystem that is left wing youtube. Video essayists are amazing for educating people. But someone who isn't already left wing will, let's face it, probably not sit down and watch a left wing video essay. The debaters both defend the video essayists from having to do debates if they don't want. And debaters are also good at recruiting, since debates actually do pull people over from the right (not the debate opponent of course but rather some of their fans). But without the video essayists to further educate those new recruits they will never actually turn fully left wing, they'll just like watching blood sport debates. For any group to turn on the other would be disastrous for the online left.

Did any of these Fox X-Men movies, Sony Spiderman movies, or Disney Marvel movies ever do anything with Mr. Sinister? He’s kind of a fun villain

Heihachi is a really bad father, they have that in common but Heihachi has charisma, intelligence, a real sense of humor and doesn't flee from a fight like Musk. Because unlike Musk, he took real martial arts lessons.

Do I care for the plot of deadpool 3? Not particularly. But it nailed the comedy and action in a way Marvel has been lacking in lately. They killed the script writing. And although the plot isn't groundbreaking, it's still done well and with a solid message that well suits the issues of IP and acquisition, making the 4th wall breaks far more meaningful. I loved it, personally I thought it was better than Deadpool 2.

praising No Way Home for all the "clever" little twists on Peter's canon events they did and I'm just sitting here like. As someone who never saw any of the pre-MCU Spider-Man movies, they fridged Aunt May to give Peter some Obligatory Trauma Motivations and they turned MJ from a confident agent of her own destiny into a flaccid damsel in distress just to give Garfield his precious little hero moment for the audience's nostalgia. Shut up.

I mean all the spidermen experienced it, but as an mcu audience we haven’t seen him lose his “uncle Ben” on screen, we weren’t attached to him. To aunt may, we were and so this was his moment. And also I found it so incredibly hype especially since May said the actual verbatim line from the comics
@AndythecreatureАй бұрын
As someone who had seen all live action movies prior to No Way Home and will always be baffled by the fact that the original movie was not only better in storytelling, but in making Spidey feel real in their own universe, the killing of aunt May pretty much ruined the movie for me. I always enjoyed the moments between her and Peter... for me, there was always an underlying tension, as if May had lost her partner & Peter felt(?)/was(?) responsible for it. In any case, we didn't need to see the Waynes being gunned down in BvS and May's demise didn't feel earned to me... but you don't have to be rude about it.
