@@kiyoko335 Yeah, I don't like that high school stuff either. I stay away from toxic people who don't mean me any good. I had to learn that the hard way in even worse situations. I've had other women ask me for money, food, etc, and then get mad and call me stingy because I won't share nothing with them. And those be the main ones who don't have anything to give when it is time for them to contribute for a change. I guess they do that to either take kindness for weakness or see if they can get over on you.

I am retired now but, man do I wish there were videos like this when I joined. In the first couple weeks, I thought I had made the wrong decision but, I caught on pretty quickly and became a stronger version of myself that I had no idea existed and made a career of it! I made lifelong friendships and can still call my friends from BMT for anything and they’ll be there no matter what. Your video was awesome, thank you for bringing clarity to girls thinking about joining, you rock!

You make a good point about waiting until after basic training is over when it comes to flirting with the opposite sex. We had a couple people get caught doing that. They would write a letter for the person they were interested in, mail that letter to someone back home and have them mail that letter back to the guy/girl it was intended for. I was in Navy Boot Camp and the tummy troubles could be solved with fruit opposed to laxatives. Everyday of Boot Camp I'd eat an apple, orange or watermelon with my meals. In addition to taking care of constipation eating the fruit caused me to lose weight. I went from 125 lbs at the beginning of basic to 98 lbs at the end of basic. It was a good thing that Great Lakes Navy Training Camp was training child Sea Cadets because I needed a child sized uniform following such extreme weight loss.

In 1976, the AF was horrible compared to today. A lot of change took place over the years for the better. Many of the troops were remnants of people who joined the AF to get out of the draft and Vietnam. Things I saw as a AB, people would go to jail for today. The personnel quality standards are thankfully, so much better now.

We slept in different dorms of course, but the girls came to our dorm during the day many times for day room meetings. We had a few that hooked up in the laundry room. The constipation thing happens to everyone, or can happen I should say. I was the only person who went to the bathroom every day. Thank God I didn't have that problem. There were some who were constipated for over 2 weeks. I leave on Dec 10th and this was really helpful especially cause it's so recent! I've been trying to find videos that are actually relatable and I'm so glad I found your page. Also if you get leave and dont visit family; MOA in Bloomington, MN is a super nice trip. I'm from the area and if you've never been I'd suggest checking it out, seems like you'd enjoy it

I am SERIOUSLY considering going Air Force. The majority of my friends are in the Army and that just seems too intense for me, so they all suggest i go AF instead. I’ve really been looking into it and i’m going to take my ASVAB soon!

Hi! I have recently made my decision to join the military and I’m really looking at the AF. It is so true that it’s a lot better to hear things from a females point of view and I feel much comfortable asking you about similar things that we (as women) may encounter. So I seem to notice not ,any women or none at all are asking about razors, tweezers or any facial hair removers, exfoliating gloves, and nail clippers/cuticle clippers. Is that something that is provided to us or is it something we are allowed to bring in? I enjoy a very thorough hygiene regimen and that’s honestly my biggest concern if I do qualify to join the AF. Thank you so much for the advice! Subscribing immediately!
@EloraJean5 жыл бұрын
You will not be provided any hygiene items, except for maybe nail clippers? But I forget. You are allowed to bring your own products. Just note you have a pretty small drawer to store all of your toiletries and what not, so pack accordingly. Girls in my flight brought wax strips for their face, razors, tweezers, nail clippers, etc. All allowed.

Hi can you tell me something about Air Force Dentistry? More specifically about the scholarship they provide and about how life is after graduation, where we might get deployed and things like that?

Is it really difficult waking up & getting dressed in time? Also, if you’re not keeping up in all of the physical training do you get in trouble or penalized? & one lore thing, how many outfits/changes of clothes should you bring? Btw, you are very pretty & I love your vibe!

Hi Elora, I just found your videos. They are very informative. I wish I had good information like this when I went through BMT way way back in 1978. There was a measles outbreak when i went through. No vaccine yet. I was in the hospital for a couple days but didn't get set back. Kaye

I’m a senior in high school right now and interested in going into the Air Force. would you suggest going to college first or go to the military then college?
@EloraJean6 жыл бұрын
That's a choice you'll have to make, I have no idea what you want to do in life and what you're willing to put on hold or compromise. If you're interested in joining already, you can do school while you're in. Going to college first without being in the military allows you to focus more on school though.

@junprelhe31176 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this helpful video! I am basically binge watching Airforce BMT videos and you just made me feel safe into going in. My only concern is that, I'm small.. like legit small.. but still under the height requirement. I'm 4'11.. so I'm wondering.. if there are women same height as me.. and how did they do? Seriously, I'm worried about the disadvantages of my height.. like the climbing thing..and all other stuff that comes with it.
@EloraJean6 жыл бұрын
Size isn't anything but a number! Don't let that get to your head. There were some TINY girls in my flight, similar to you, and they seemed to say marching was a bit hard because they are in the back and have to keep up with everyone in the front. They were able to succeed in every other obstacle! You can do it, don't feel like you're not going to do as well because of your stature.

Thanks for the video. It was really helpful. I have a few questions. Do you have to cut your hair? Also, can you wear your wedding ring during BMT? Thanks in advance.
@EloraJean6 жыл бұрын
You don't have to cut your hair unless it is out of regulations. You're allowed to wear your wedding band, I don't recommend wearing a real one because it can get banged up or dirty or lost.
