Oooh girl this hair change, length and all! Glad you’re doing well! Happy holidays! Edit: You’re right the environment and morale make the biggest difference. I’ll be honest. There was a reason the Hill position didn’t work out (I don’t recommend the people!). I think the wording you were looking for is strength training! Life and health is always a rollercoaster. Thank you for bringing awareness to the fact that ups and downs are normal.

Not in the Air Force myself but I feel like I’m part of the family as a wife. As someone who’s had and recovered from an eating disorder, I wish you the best in your recovery. It’s so important that you went to get seen despite your fears and I’m glad to hear that you can get the help without it interfering with your career. Just remember you’re a beautiful human being inside and out and you have positively impacted so many people 💗

Elora, I am so impressed with your videos. You tell folks so much valuable information. Although I'm a Vietnam era vet. I wish we had had access to such information when I was in. My youngest daughter will be heading to BMT in January, (She is so excited). You have made the transition so much easier for her. and pitting in in a Woman's perspective is excellent. You tell the truth in your videos and don't sugar coat it, and make them realize in so many ways that, although its the military, you run across the same kind of people as in a civilian job, and many of the same obstacles. And as any job, there are good days and bad days. Your explanations of BMT are excellent. No one knows what to expect in BMT You deserve many Ku-do's. If you would let me I would be honored to sent your Commander a letter, stating the way you are honoring the AF and explain the AF way of life in such a great manner. Gary Blanks Tsgt USAF, Retired

Thanks for the update! I have fond memories of my NCO Leadership training (at least that's what it was called back in 1990) that I did while stationed at Gwanju Air Base, South Korea. Thanks for sharing about your mental health. It SO important to talk about this openly to reduce the stigma. It's a huge step in just becoming aware of these issues. Using exercising as a coping tool is a super-healthy way of managing stress. I have had similar eating disorder issues and used exercise to cope with it, but not perfectly of course. Thanks for your honesty. PS Please tell us about your pets (I think I saw a cat...and a dog?). Thanks for your response.

A mental health issue won’t get you kicked out unless it makes you undeployable for an extended period. I actually sought out mental health while deployed and stayed deployed while getting therapy and now that I’m home I’m still in therapy over a year after I started.

Welcome back girl and congrats on graduating ALS and making distinguished graduate! Have you visited the nutritionist on base? I was paying a girl for a couple of months to get my macros and it kind of seemed like I plateaued and she didn't seem to care to navigate me towards my goals. I recently saw the nutritionist on base and she gave some really good advice! I think this might help you with having a better relationship with food! I know I struggle with tendencies of binge eating sometimes when I don't have a plan. That's the biggest game changer is when you have a plan you're less likely to fail. And the workout thing! 6 times a week is a little excessive for sure and sets you up to burn out quicker, especially if you aren't looking to compete in something. Maybe use two days of your week for a self care day? I hope all is well and can't wait to see more videos in the future and see your progress both physically and mentally!

13:20 Don't be afraid to get diagnosed, it's better that it is known than discovered later as a surprise to anybody I'd say. Everybody has a way of dealing with stress whether that is alcohol, smoking, or ice cream. Frankly eating is the best one out of those demons because you can always increase your energy output but cigarettes have no anti-effector if that makes any sense. Edited to add: Mine is smoking, and frankly cigarettes never stopped looking delicious. 😄

It’s sad that in the military they hold mental health over your head, so instead of getting help so many let it fester!
@jrstar73424 жыл бұрын
Mental heath is a serious assessment in the military and has to be accounted for over the readiness of an individual. I believe an eating disorder in most cases is a behavioral modification. Elora Jean is well on her way to correcting to what was making her feel down about her self.
