The first and biggest thing I noticed once I heard Eloy play with Slipknot is that he really enphasizes and respects Joey's parts while respectfully adding his own style to it too. Eloy is the perfect fit for Slipknot🤘🏼

Since the time Eloy joined Slipknot , the band got reinvigorated onto a whole new level . That’s probably the best thing to ever happen to that band since Joey’s and Paul’s demise . Eloy’s technicality is absolutely unparalleled from day 1 since those days when he was even playing with Andre Matos , Gloria and even Iahweh and also changed the game too for Sepultura and now he’s playing with one of the biggest metal bands on earth . Absolutely well deserved , and to me - Eloy is the only person to do massive justice to the legacy of Joey . 👊🏻🙏🏻🔥

First time I saw Eloy play was with Sepultura @ the Aztec Theater in San Antonio and was completely blown away. I've always loved heavy hitters, and he not only hit the drums like Mike Tyson, but he did it with such precision and musicality that it just blew me away. Congratulations on your success. 🤘🏽🥁🤘🏽

Letting brazilian musicians add their flavour into the compositions and songs is the best thing a metal genre can do, to add valor to the songs. We saw this with Kiko Loureiro (also played with André Matos on Angra) on Megadeth and can see it now with Eloy on Slipknot. Brazilian music background is very rich and can increment in very interesting ways, the songs just go to another level of appreciation

It’s a double edged sword, Eloy joined arguably the most successful modern metal band and Sepultura lost arguably one of the best modern metal drummers.I appreciate Eloy how he carries himself as a musician, he has such a love for music as a whole, he pours his heart and soul into the drums with such passion and ferocity no matter the sound or genre .Not to take away from any drummer out there but there’s just something different about Eloy…the dude is amongst the greats

It’s absolutely insane when you think about it! Imagine being a massive Slipknot fan, probably never even met some of the members before. One day, you're just in Brazil, and the next, you're not only seeing all of them at the same time in person, but actually PLAYING WITH THEM UNMASKED! I was one of those lucky dudes that had the opportunity to bump Eloy. He was called to play in 2014 at my high school at our culture events. I remember, after all those kids left, me and him taking a photo and saying some random things that i cant record, but he was such a simple and humble person, he cared about listening the fans. Almost 10 years later he is on the way to become a freaking legend. What a great time to be alive.

Andre had a keen eye for talent. He introduced the world to the future drummer of Slipknot and the guitarist of Megadeth. As a Brazilian, it's unfortunate that the global metal community isn’t more familiar with Brazilian metal musicians. For instance, Bruno Valverde, the current drummer for Angra, stepped in for Eloy when Eloy broke his leg. Eloy chose Bruno to complete Sepultura's North American tour, and Bruno had only hours to learn their entire set - and he nailed it.

I made a bet with my buddy that Eloy would be the new guy in SK. He also is a drummer and he said I don't know that is. I was like bro that's the thing a lot of people don't but they will. Well I collected my $10 bet. lol. He was like how the hell dis you know that??? I told him I've watched Eloy play side stage and the guy is a an absolute monster player. He's one of not the best metal players around right now. I've never seen a metal player hit so hard in my life man. If you watch his left hand he almost lets go of the stick and whips it down. I've also never seen someone break sticks like him. lol. I am so so happy for him. He deserves it.

Sempre gostei da Bateria e percussão 🥁 do Slipknot, (além do visual claro) me lembro de baixar fotos da banda para colocar como wallpaper, depois emprestar o disquete 💾 para amigos da escola, eu nunca fui um rockeiro hardcore mas tinha um certo respeito, pois se vc queria colocar imagens de Slipknot ou Iron Maiden na tela do seu Windows 98 eu era o cara certo kkkkkk comecei a gostar de bateria desde então (na época tocava samba com pandeiro e tantan) mas o q Joey fazia .... e agora vê o Eloy colocando tantas técnicas em um nível...
