Listening to this Oct.2020. Fantastic bit of work, A new orchestration of Tarkus , Huge piece of music, must have been a real labour of love. 10 outa 10 for this.

A-MA-ZING!! So much fun to play along with this re-think. And I love Garritan orchestra libraries.

Very interesting visuals, I much prefer William Neal's originals from the album art but this still is a good alternative. I wonder what it would take for someone proficient in these things to produce an animated movie of the Tarkus saga.

seems like only programming can deliver the tightness required to emulate the three headed monster ELP

Kinda sounds like Tarkus played in a Super Nintendo :)

Great job. Is the sheet music for Tarkus published or was this transcribed by ear?
@kenaldri49237 жыл бұрын
I think I'd rather hear either real instruments (fully orchestrated Tarkus) or the ELP original. This isn't bad, but there is so much you can do with it when you arrange it for a real orchestra. Nice visuals...and some unexpectedly nice harmonies here and there.

I've always loved Tarkus, but I wish they had included the lyrics in this version. It's a bit disappointing without them.
the original is better of course, but cool that they have done this,

Not very fond of the MIDI sounds. Love the art though.

gads. I have no commentary other than to say that I've seen ELP 4 times in concert. They NEVER sounded this 'tinny'. Sheesh. Nice try, Maybe next time try it on a dulcimer.

Sounds too much "japanese". By the way, nothing will never sounds like a MOOG 24 dB Oct filter as well ! Pretty good job.

Emerson played a C3 and also a L100 that he messed around with!

painfully uninspired and terribly orchestrated!
@islandpalm1487 жыл бұрын
Painstakingly inspired actually. Everyone has their own take on the piece. While I prefer a hard charging rock 3-piece with good old overdriven Hammond and whirling Leslies, this is a good orchestral study with faithful execution of the notes and structure.

Pathetic, cheesy and a striking illustration of the difference between well-meant and well done.
