Elton John is a showman first and always ... my mom said even when she met him in the sixties he was a diva but he knew how to put on a show. He knows how to create buzz ... he really is just a second incarnation of Liberace ... and believe me that's no slagging they both are brilliant performers and pianists but there are people that play their life all at higher levels that will never see the even 1% of the money he has made

Do they ever perform without needing to restring the bows? The best cello I have ever heard. They seem to be able to play anything from classic to unrestraned rock and make it sound like it was written only for them.
@marenkuether-ulberg33114 жыл бұрын
Nah, they destroy those bows - magnificently. Every piece probably needs a newly strung bow - dozens. Watching that horse hair snap with so much passion is part of the magic they let us indulge in. Years of loving the 2Cellos!! 👏🏽🏟🌏
@debscott75803 жыл бұрын
much of what they play was written by them, they take a tune with a great melody or riff and rearrange it to suit the cello...we will be hearing much more from them of their own compositions in the future...they have already begun with "Celloverse"

The standing ovation ... I saw these guys in UT a couple of years ago, and after the first couple of songs - which were classical - as they moved on to rock, the audience stood ... and never sat down again. Myself included! I've never been to a concert with so much energy from both performers and audience in my life. And I'm old! By far, the best I'd ever attended. It was a night I will remember for a very long time, and I hope to repeat again in the future. Rock on, guys ... you are absolutely amazing!

@@vinkomir9964 don't spread disinformation or should I say lies, please. Luka Sulić is a Slovenian who was born to a Slovenian mother and a Croatian father and grew up in Slovenia, in Maribor. He has Slovenian citizenship and through his father also Croatian citizenship in addition. In Croatia, in Zagreb, he just continued his cello studies for a period of time. it's interesting that he calls it "homo-erotic" but without a sexual aspect. I can see that. Music is so sensual and emotional. It is responsive. it has a give and take and flow, and is actually quite erotic in a way. i appreciate how he as allowed me to see a new definition of "erotic."

I hadn't heard of them before that night, but I had to look them up. Pure, pure talent. And entertaining. They will be legends, since they took something like the Cello, and made it their own. Yes, others have done, but not in tandem like this, and not with the stage presense they bring. They are cutting edge, new, and now stars.

Well, when such appreciation is received from someone who has been in the music industry as long as Elton John, it really means something! And regarding the Apocalyptica vs 2Cellos debate... I would not compare one against each other... I see them as different bands with different paths in their musical approach! I like them both, I see no reason to slender one or the other or put one higher and the other one lower! There's an ample space in the musical scene, there's certainly enough room for both Apocalytica and 2Cellos and I'm sure there are others who take the cello to higher grounds!
