I am 62 and have had the great privilege of seeing him in concert more than once. My favorite show ever was seeing him at Madison Square Garden in 2018 on my birthday. No one comes close to his talent and performance. His concerts are about the music, not pyrotechnics, light shows, or costume changes… just his amazing voice, beautiful piano, and legendary song lyrics.
@jasonbauer548811 ай бұрын
My thoughts exactly. He puts so much into his performance. It's probably why he doesn't preform anymore... When you put that much out, it takes a lot out of you. I only dream of being able to see him live.

It was my first Elton concert and I was initially a bit disappointed. I’ve seen him 3x now and that piano only concert was my favourite. He’s amazing. To all of you in your 20's and 30's. Explore the music from the 60's and 70's in depth. It will change your life. The songs tell stories. They are sweeter. They are singable. They can protest. They can rain tears. They are musically far more intricate and deep. The instrumentation and melodies are complex yet fun to hear, because you can HEAR the notes and the instruments work together. There are very few artists today who can match the art and craft of those we are losing every day now. It must never be lost.

As a black man in America, I love rap, R&B, and soft rock. I grew up listening to Elton John. I started with his Rock of The Westies album and was hooked ever since then. That was back when I was in jr high school in the 70's. It is always good to hear real music again. An amazing singer, pianist, and philanthropist. Heaven help the music world should this amazing talent ever! I found Elton's music at the age of 10/11 after my family moved from a farming town/area to "the big city." I would spend money I made babysitting, throwing newspapers, and doing odd jobs around the neighborhood to purchase his albums, and 45's! He may have originated in the U.K., but he, and his music. is for all the world! I've seen him play live with his (almost) all original band, and also saw him when he toured with his piano -- no other band members/mates. Both were AMAZING. I know he's enjoying life with his husband and two boys, and is all but retired, but one can still wish that there might be a time and place to see him once more! All of my love to Sir Elton John!
