This song was inspired by Billy Joel's 1993 hit RIVER OF DREAMS. Strong similarity between this song and that one. Probably,during Billy's and Elton's Face To Face tours,the two played this one during the point where ROD breaks then it resumes. I noticed that.

After not following Elton John's music for 26 years I recently listened to all the albums he did from 1992 to 2006 and this was one of the few songs I liked. Out of the 8 albums I listened to there were 11 songs that I enjoyed. It doesn't bother me that Elton John doesn't have the same creative drive he had in his 20s. His first 200 songs are magnificent and I cherish those albums.

But he has made some fine and critically admired albums this millennium, e.g Songs from the West Coast, The Union, which was ranked #3 of the year in the US by Rolling Stone. The problem is that people think instead of Princess Di, Disney or inferior soundtracks etc.
