Thank you Elton. Her passing was like losing a grandparent for me. I grew up with her image and her smile and her warm words at Christmas time. I will definitely miss her very very much.

I'm in the USA and feel the same way! I only has one Grandparent (my mom's Mom), but she died when I was little. So the Queen has been like a Grandmother to me as well. She just had the presence about her.

My beloved beautiful Mother admired the Queen for her grace and dignity. She was one of her heroes in life. My Mom passed away six months ago and now we have lost the Queen in the same year. They both belonged to a amazing generation whose likes we will never see again. I love you Mom.

I'm a Statesider, but I think one of the classiest things about Queen Elizabeth was that in WW2, she was not afraid to get her hands dirty whilst being in active service. She drove and worked on trucks/lorries for heaven's sake. I think maybe she figured she could dress all fancy later, after the war was done. That definitely earned my respect, and then some. She genuinely served her country. And to do so with humility, grace, and of course, humor. After all, she did put a sandwich in her handbag a la' Paddington Bear. And the smile on her face then felt genuine. I may be a Statesider, but I, like my Brit friends, will miss her. She was a Light in this world that will forever be unmatched. RIP, Your Majesty. 😔🙏

@@claudiahenn452 Vielen Dank! Das hoffe ich auch im TV zu sehen. Bin ein großer GB-Fan und liebe dieses Land und die Sprache (leider bin ich darin nicht so gut). Die Queen erinnerte mich extrem an meine vor 4 Jahren (mit 96!) verstorbene Mum. Wenn ich die alternde Queen sah, wähnte ich meine Mutter wahrzunehmen, sowohl äußerlich zum Verwechseln wie auch in ihrer Art, sich zu bewegen, ihrer Mimik und nicht zuletzt ihrer Hundeliebe. Besonders schön waren unsere Reisen durch GB bei "Bed & Breakfast" mit stets innigem, liebevollen Kontakt zu den Menschen (und Hunden) dort. Unvergesslich and "very British"!

Ich möchte einmal "drüben" mit meiner Mutter und der Queen auf einem bestimmten, verwunschenen Balkon "meines" Schlosses gemütlich Kaffee und Kuchen genießen. Ich sah heute über den Tag verteilt sehr viel von der Beisetzung und war zutiefst berührt, als verlöre ich meine Mum zum zweiten Mal. Die Queen war für mich stets ein Garant dafür, dass es noch eine andere, feinere Welt gibt, die einem (zusammen mit viel Klassischer Musik) Halt zu geben vermag. Tipp: Sieh` Dir unbedingt den Dudelsackspieler auf Schloss Windsor an, welcher scheinbar die Seele der Queen immer leiser werdend in die Unendlichkeit verabschiedete. Mir lief es dabei kalt den Rücken runter und meine Augen wurden ganz feucht. Unvergesslich und schaurig schön! Ganz liebe Grüße von jemandem, der scheinbar 100 Jahre zu spät auf die Welt kam...

@@claudiahenn452 Man sollte nie unterschätzen, welch` integrierende Wirkung eine funktionierende Monarchie auf ein Land haben kann. Wer schafft es denn sonst, so unterschiedliche Bevölkerungsschichten, Bildungsgrade, Berufe, Hautfarben, etc. für DIESELBE Sache begeistern zu können? Natürlich muss hierzu der Monarch so positiv rüberkommen wie die Queen. Leider ist ihr Zeitalter nun vorbei und mir wird sie stets fehlen als ruhender Fels in der Brandung des oft schlimmen Zeitgeistes. Ganz nebenbei sei erwähnt, dass Frauen in der Geschichte fast immer die erfolgreicheren Monarchen waren. Schade deshalb, dass keine neue Queen in Sicht ist. Dennoch verdienen deren männliche Nachfolger eine Chance und ich hoffe hierbei vor allem auf William. Die Briten wären sehr dumm, wenn sie ihre tolle Monarchie abschaffen würden. Das was sie kostet, kommt als Vielfaches durch deren Faszination wieder rein - man denke hier nur an den Tourismus. Übrigens gefällt mir bei Dir sehr Dein Bekenntnis zum Glauben. Das geht mir genauso und ich weiß, dass ein glückliches Leben NUR im Glauben begründet sein kann. Der Glaube - oder nichts! Ganz liebe Grüße an Dich - S.
