It really is. Granted it did have some massive hits from it (Little Jeannie being the biggest), there are criminally underrated songs on it like Dear God, Chasing the Crown, and Never Gonna Fall In Love Again. It's really sad how there are so many songs that never really get played at his shows anymore.

His best 80's effort. It was my mum's go-to record to put on for housework. I listened to it yesterday for the first time since I was about 5 and I remembered all of it - but especially this song 😁

He does mention this song in his book. He thought it was a bit of a “pointed” lyric from Bernie. And he said he then had the “brass balls” to sing it as though it was about someone else!

Great song that's been buried. Glad Elton made it out alive!

Don't take much to guess what the song is about. I have been there years ago. Thankfully Elton survived

Especially written by Bernie for him 😄

pnyx It was. You’d think he wouldn’t have sung it but he did, and because he did no one guessed it was about him. I’m completely intrigued by this song.

Dust settles on a thin cloud Sends a fog drifting to a worn out crowd I've had my face in a mirror for twenty four hours Staring at a line of white powder High-priced madness pays the tab I've scraped too much of nothing from your plastic bag I'm a catatonic son of a bitch who's had A touch too much of white powder And she's a habit I can't handle For a reason I can't say I'm in love with a wild white lady She's as sweet as the stories say White powder white lady You're one and the same Come on down to my house won't you And hit this boy again Shock waves to a tired brain Sends that hungry lady to my door again She's my shelter from the storm when I feel the rain Entertaining white powder I feel I'm dry-docked and tongue-tied Heaven sends a stretcher for the kids to ride I might just escape while the others might die Riding on a high of white powder.

That is truly amazing. It seems completely unintentional....but seriously, I listen to this song every time I do coke.

At the end of another song on this show he does it again lol

Melisa Austin he does it it in this time... this show is my 2nd favorite behind Wembley 1984. He touches his nose a lot, at one point during Bennie and the Jets he throws the piano bench across the stage. I know he talks as if he’s ashamed about a lot of these years, but he really rocked.

This seems to be an unfortunate feature of a lot of the 80's live performances I've looked up, I was just watching a performance of Crystal from 2L40, my favourite from that album, but it's just stupidly fast.
