What sucks is I cant get any of these in my country. I am inclined to buy the asus gx502vw since it has gsync and a 115w 2070. Any update on these devices? I'm about to buy the Europe version from pc specialist: Recoil IV with RTX 2060 1Tb of SSD and 16 Gb of Ram for both work and gaming (Not a fan of online gaming thou). They perform well for now? I'm mostly worried about thermal performances (even when not gaming), fan noise (same) and battery life, if you could share your personal experience or opinion would be great there's a frightening lack of reviews on it. Yes the next weeks will be nerve wracking 😅 But also out of all XMG is applying Liquid Metal as they cooling agent on the CPU. I'm pretty excited how that will affect temps.

This was a really good review! But just one thing, and this is a nitpick, I don't think in the title you should say "/ Eluktronics Mech-15 G3" since, yes it is the same chassis with the specs but with eluktroboost the mech 15 g3 can pull 150w to the gpu and it has a mux switch so you can turn off Optimus and switch to dGPU. Sorry I thought I should of said it, I love your videos and keep doing what you're doing 😊

I just bought my laptop with this exact same tongfang chassis with the exact same mechanical keyboard and lightbar and exact same default control center software as this, except from my provider i got it with a lower rtx 2060 115w and 144hz screen. Its called the illegear onyx g and the performance looks 20% worse than the infinity's 2070 super. Just wanna say i love this aluminium chassis as it looks and cools pretty good and is always cold to the touch. Fans are pretty damn loud on load though.

It’ll be interesting to see your thermals. Having to return mine as the gpu was hitting the thermal limit of 87 degrees very quickly under max load and throttled quite heavily. They pc builder I got it from is trying to tell me that this is normal, but I’m having none of it

87 is a bit hot but if the throttle difference is less than 200mhz I would keep it

It throttles from 1500ish MHz to 1200. Happens near the end of the red dead 2 benchmark but I got 52 FPS exactly the same as Jarrods result so it’s probably not just me

I know you mentioned there isn't any overclocking or undervolting by default so does that mean it doesn't have any EluktroBoosted levels of performance? Can you tell us what the CPU power limits (PL1/PL2) are set to in the different performance modes? Do you have a watt meter to check the maximum power draw in the different performance modes and also lock the CPU power limit to something in all the modes using Throttlestop or XTU or something so you can compare and see if just the GPU is drawing more power in each mode? Does that also mean the BIOS does not have any options for undervolting? Does it support it at all via Throttlestop or XTU?

Hi Jarrod, This is my final place to get some answers. I am new to this and after watching like a zillion of your videos I got myself a y740 15" last month. The updated legion series is a longtime away here so went with it. I am struggling with the temperature and power throttling though. My GPU is reaching 80C and under stress tests CPU is at 94 even after undervolting to -150v. Are those expected temps or do I have a bad unit here? Is there any solution to this? I followed the guide by BoB you direct people to for undervolting.

I believe it is the same as APEX 15X not vapor. Only available in Aftershock Singapore for now. Usually the difference between the chassis resellers are the hardware they put in ie. ram+storage models. some have changes with own software/bios settings that are similar. think though most of their driver updates come straight from inlet themselves. Reddit reviewers confirm there is mux for Vapor 15x (igpu/hybrid/dedicated gpu) idk bout this one though.

Thanks, no I don't sorry. I find the graphs more useful as I can convey far more data (all setting levels) in a way that is comparable between my videos. I will probably only do iGPU testing in laptops that don't also have dGPU.

its unpractical to test live gameplay vs benchmarks because the reason the benchmark exists is to have repeatable tests to compare results to. if you dont do as close to the same thing as possible, comparisons can be invalid. so even though it's unrealistic, its more unreasonable to test actual gameplay because comparing it later becomes pointless

Just buy the aftershock vapor15x with 2070super maxp, which is also TONGFANG chassis (GM5MP0Y). At the time, infinity w5 was also on my list. But their website is a bit bad. I don't even know where to download their drivers. In the end, I choose Aftershock

Mech 15 is much better than the mag and it beats the Max thanks to better screen, better battery and a better keyboard
