I, as a linguist, am *utterly fascinated* with the Gaulish Language, since I was introduced to Eluveitie by my sister. More importantly, I loved their music from the first time I heard it.

@@TeacherinTraining39 Among the Gaulish Polytheist community, there are a lot of us (of varying levels of knowledge) trying to revive Ancient Gaulish (as evidenced in my name), and even efforts to evolve Gaulish into a modernized, living language (influenced by the evolution of the non-dead Celtic languages)!

Not only does this song capture the moral of one of my favorite childhood fairytales, Little Red Riding Hood, so well, but it is also so very badass.

@P.Rabbit although in this song the wolf is a metaphor
@ForseePilot

@@Yes-gu2wn Thank you for providing me with a little opportunity to gush about my love for this story. The wolf - and everything else - is also a metaphor in Little Red Riding Hood. It represents both predatory men and sin generally, tempting the girl away from the path of virtue whereby it devours her in the end. These metaphors are part of what make the tale (and other tales and myths) great :) Happy listening!
@joecato1138
@joecato1138 5 жыл бұрын
@@ForseePilot the wolf has always been a good metaphor for uses like this because in so many ways wolves and humans are similar, but wolves are also wild and untamed. So the wolf is a reminder of what we are without...certain influences that would try to control us too much.

I am from Hungary and I like this song so much. I am just wondering what language is it? I know the band is from Switzerland and they have the Helvetic language but it sound to me like kind of gaelic language. Are people still speak this beautiful language? Thank You for this great song.

It is ancient Gaullish which was spoken in what is now France Belgium, Swiss, some parts of Germany and northern Italy. It was spoken (attested at least) from 600 BC to 500 AD and left little legacy, less than Latin at least but we still find some texts and poetries that allow for a reconstruction of the language (plus, it is in the same family -celtic languages-as Irish, Welsh and Breton, which helps). It is no longer spoken and left little traces (less than 2000 French words come from Gaulish) This song is basically "the Little Red Hood"

Druco- is "bad or evil." Cû is in this case "wolf" but also means "dog." (The bledo- part of my name is another way of saying wolf.) But Gaulish is actually fairly closely related to the Latin-based languages, maybe moreso with Spanish and Italian than French.

Hmm...
