Mickey Thomas - one of THE greatest voices in rock and he still had it goin’ on here in a major way! These live, low-fidelity recordings can make even the best singers sound weak, but Mickey’s voice shines like a diamond! And Elvin’s guitar work was still as wonderful as I remember at the first rock concert I ever attended back in 1978.

It’s so good to see artists remaining friends with an ability and desire to work together and share their talents with their fans; as opposed to a jealous rift that robs people of an opportunity to experience the work they both shared when they were younger, recreating something that ONLY THEY CAN. So special ya know?

This beautiful outstanding song appeared, just absolutely fantastic. I just wanted to see if there was a song out there that reflected how l was feeling. Thank you Elvin Bishop for writing it 🙂❤️and Mickey Thomas for singing it 🙂❤️ xx

I met them both in San Diego in 1976. We went to the concert on the tour for this song. They had an after concert party at Spankies night club at Midway and Rosecrans. Everybody was grouping around Elvin, so I decided to talk to the unknown singer standing all by himself. Cool dude. Then at the end Elvin asked who was driving him to the hotel. We spoke up and I think it was his manager who said no, but Elvin accepted a ride from us. There we were, 5 people and an ES-345 in a Fiat 850. Me behind Elvin in the front passenger seat, me with his ES between my legs, my date next to me. My roomate driving and his date on the center console. Every time he shifted into 2nd and 4th his date got real self conscious...4 on the floor...sitting next to the star of the concert we just saw!
