I’ve seen Elvin more than I can count. The first time was ‘73 in Iowa City at a bar during one of the best weekends I can remember. He did a 3 night run during his “Rock My Soul” tour. On Friday afternoon we wondered in for a drink and Elvin was playing along with Dickey Betts and Charlie Daniels. Just jamming on slides. All this before we headed to the Duane Allman Memorial Auditorium to see Charlie open for the ABB. Yes, it was named that because the students voted for it. Later changed back to its old name. But hey, what a 3 day run! Jo Baker was singing with them. What an incredible voice for such a small lady. A real treat. Elvin is the best small venue act you can see. Second would have to be Ronnie Baker Brooks.

Saw EB and MTB at The Music Inn, Lenox Ma. in 1975. EB & MTB kicked ass. Both bands jammed at the end and the concert ran long. Tanglewood, a Classical music venue was literally just up the road. Tanglewood was having an evening concert and called down to say they could hear the Rock music. Music Inn pulled the plug on EB & MTB but the drummers kept at it for about 20 minutes until they plugged them back in. It was a hell of a show.
