I can't help but not believe she would never tell him he had a daughter. Its just wrong & i won't believe any woman would do that, especially if she truly loved him. He would have a right to know. If she loved him like she said she would've made a way to be with him.

The book by Bud Krogh, “The Day Elvis Met Nixon” describes Elvis was wearing tight-fitting dark velvet pants, A white silky shirt with very high collars and open to below his chest, a dark purple velvet cape, a gold medallion and heavy, silver plated, amber tinted designer sunglasses with “EP” built into the nose bridge. around his waist was a belt with a 4“ x 6“ gold belt buckle with a complex design. It also mentions that he was going by the name of John Burrow’s and his room numbers for him, Jerry, Schilling, and Sonny West wa room 505, 506 and 507 at the Washington hotel. The date of this meeting was December 21, 1970. Elvis appeared at the WH gate at 8:45 AM.

Billy Smith said Elvis had a rule, the common law rule, that he would only date up to 4 years or so, because 5 years it was a common law marriage. Billy said Elvis loved all women, thus, no commitment. He said Elvis would never marry, and his wife Jo said the same thing. He never ended any relationship, he would just move on to another woman and hoped that the one he was dating at the time would see him with the next woman and get the message. I find this story so unbelievable that this woman would make demands of him when she is married and has all these children. I can tell you that Elvis did not care enough for her, if she was real, as he kept accumulating women. There were many, many women that Lucy, if she were real, did not mention. So, that is the part that makes it unbelievable, and, certainly, what woman would stick around hoping for something 24 years. I have to say all of the other women were smarter than this woman. Priscilla stated that the whole music industry is like this, and I recall reading articles of when Elvis played Las Vegas that Frankie Avalon, Paul Anka, Tom Jones-- all of them were getting one girl after another at these shows. That is called a womanizer, and that is who Elvis was--he would never commit and marry, and if this woman was real, he would not marry her. I can't see him ever having marrying this woman that was married with six kids. Elvis had no problem moving on. From all my reading, I knew he would not marry Ginger, either. If you listen to his concerts the last year, he sings "Hurt", but before he sings he introduces Ginger and then says "just love her". Elvis was great at saying things to get what he wanted. And, Billy Smith's wife said that as well. He wanted something different than they wanted. Elvis did everything in excess drugs, women, jewlery, cars, airplanes etc. Everything seemed spiraling out-of-control near the end. The Memphis Mafia said that he had a vast smorgasbord of beautiful women at his reach. There is a phone call of when Elvis and Priscilla were married, and it is from a dopey woman who had a brief encounter with him, and she tells him what a nice time she had with him and that she always remembered him and she is now getting divorced and wanting to know when he is coming to Chicago. He and Priscilla just had Lisa. Most of the women that dated him moved on after seeing drugs, other women, etc. Because they wanted a more promising life. If Gladys had lived, Elvis would have, probably, married Anita Wood. She dated him about 6 years. But, it, probably, wouldn't have lasted.

I believe that Elvis dated much younger women in the mid 70s to protect his image to stay relevant as a sex symbol and also because he feared getting old and not being wanted. It's well documented that he stressed over turning 40 because he felt he hadn't accomplished his goals and dreams. The 20 year olds were there to mentally escape aging.

Personally I think her behavior can be explained by she has CPSD from being sold at 11,to the man. Relationships with CPSD are very hard and complex, I believe if Lucy and Elvis ever spent more time together than a weekend he would have gotten bored with her like all the rest. He was interested because she kept him at a distance 😢

If this is true Elvis did not want Lucy.. She was an old bathrobe to him a security blanket. He no more wanted to really be with her than a hole in the head. He wanted a Sheila Ryan, or a Ginger, or a Linda or a Mindi or a Bova. He wanted young and sexy. Lucy created a delusional world in which she was the star myrtr. She was the only one who really loved Elvis while she was living with her husband and had no intentions of leaving him. Pure delusions of grandeur. Elvis used her like a pair of old slippers and she used him to create a fantasy where they had this Romeo and Juliet story going on. In reality, they committed adultery now and then engaged in sin, and Lucy thought she was some kind of Saint Lucy. Talk about delusional.

This is the kind of harsh comment that doesn't boil my blood. A lot of truth in it. As I've said, you can question their motives, the way they handled their decades long relationship, you can even diss them both. Just don't try to deny it ever existed. It was so, so human and realistic.
@NancyJSimpson
@NancyJSimpson 2 күн бұрын
@@DaryMatera I never said it did not happen but that it was not some beautiful Romeo and Juliet. It is called adultery. He cheated on Prisciala and then Linda. She was married so every time they were together it was not beautiful it was tawdry seedy sin. They used one another as they committed sin and cheated on Lucy's husband. Lucy tortured her husband with her adultery and even her girls knew she had a lover on the side. Better a millstone tied around your neck and you are thrown in the sea than to lead a little one astray.

Unless you've had this experience yourself It's not going to be easy to understand the bond Lucy and Elvis had but it was their love for eachother that kept them both alive through their hardest times. To have that strong love isn't always a blessing but using the word adultery here in the context of their love story is just immature... Why do you want to cheapen their love and make it out to be something wrong? They were trying to figure out their lives amid tragedy and manipulation and they did the best they could. Noone is perfect and that is just how life is. Through Lucy we get to see how much Elvis was manipulated by the people that supposedly loved him and were his friends. It's a sad story that doesn't end well so why treat their few moments of happiness as something bad? This story is showing so much humanity, we are all trying to figure out life and be happy. So what's more human than that!

It's sad that Elvis hugs income was so miss managed, how come no good investments had been done? In today's world you can take an absence from a precession for a while and say you are in rehab and people don't think much about it, especially after the awful book came out. Lucy definitely had Complex PTSD. Anyone being sold for sex at just 11 would. Giving birth at 12 also traumatized her and being betrayed by your own family is very damaging too. Elvis never set up a home for them or created the ideal situation for her to join him. She put her children first as she sgould have, so I don't critizise her for that! It was just too hard to make it work out for them both. Lucy was now a business woman and had made her own success. She couldn't just leave that behind... But it's her children that held her back from uprooting her life the most. Her youngest two had their father in their life, they were a family. They also went to school and had friends where they lived. How do you just uproot them from all that when there wasn't even a proper plan for them all to start over somewhere else. He couldn't commit to her any more than she could. It would never have worked out at this point for her and the children to move into Graceland. Elvis was always sourounded by the guys and they worked for the Colonel. Let's not forget that. Parker had total power over Elvis career and life. Elvis lost the independence to make his own life choices a long time ago. He couldn't even decide over marrying Prissy, his so called friends made him marry her on Parkers orders. Now he was even too sick to stand up to them and he had to go along with whatever they wanted. He had lost control!

These ppl that knew Elvis like John O'Grady that state things like 'I hate the Colonel', all it shows me is how much they didn't know about what was going on. Your comment about naysayers about the purple suit is confusing Joe. Yes Krogh & Sonny said purple, no-one can explain that. If you have BK Enterprises stating though that Bill never made a purple suit, a color photograph showing it as a black suit, an example of the black cossack suit with the coat he wore in that photograph that matches. Well.... I don't know. I personally think Lucy had read the ELVIS biography by Goldman and probably others. I have too many issues with this book and how it's written to add any credence to it. Also, I've been an Elvis fan a very long time, I've read lots, watched lots, been on forums. I've come to know other people who are very knowledgeable and not one of them believes it.

This is so sad, but it always has been. We all know Parker had gambling debt and Elvis had a payroll to meet. The medication was abling him to keep working. What would he do if he stopped working? He didn't have a large savings account to fall back on. With his wanting to care for other, never thinking he could get sick. Trying to find true love with women he never cared for. The sex symbol can't find a woman he wants to be with. He can't be with the only one he found true love with. They have both been selfish at different times, now it's to late......if she were to have gone to him, she may have saved his life.

Hmmm ive been skeptical listening to this but the "romantical" side of me kept on listening with an open mind....only to say im about 80% convinced this is tru...Elvis hooked up w/ bobblehead b/c she played on an emotional mans side (Gladys passing, he being drafted, living outside the US). Idk if Elvis has a pref in dark haired blue eyed petite women but bobble head, lucy n ginger fit the bill. Im thinking that perhaps Elvis was looking for lucy in bobblehead and Ginger. Plus the mystery of being with women who have children...makes me think this deeply impacted Elvis. I dont think Ginger cared for him, u want to be with the one u love, she just did not demonstrate this. Lucy was sensible but married, what else could Elvis do but go on as Lucy had. Geez what complicated lives

@RareElvisPhotos No matter.I was not referring about Sheila, but if I do, she had enough time to edit and put in the correct name before publication.She would have known by that time, the correct name because many books and interviews had been done with countless girlfriend names and when he dated those women.Those women were all over the media giving intviews.All Lucy had to do is follow Elvis' escapades in newspapers, in books, and on TV to know so much about him. A good editor would also catch so many inconsistencies and lack of detail.Specific details would make her story more plausible.When peoole generalize about so many details, they are hoping the casual reader will not stop and say wait a minute.This does not add up. For example, she readily accepted checks and did not return them ,but she does not accept personal items from him.I bought her book and will find what is highly doubtful in her story telling.I am very observant.I find many grammatical mistakes in books that copy editors have overlooked.I find inconsistencies in so many books.It would be great if her story were true, but I cannot be taken in so easily, especially since so much does not add up like saying five is the answer when two plus two are added.It is everyone's right to believe as they wish.I like other books you have read, but not this one.Keep up the good work in defending Elvis.

Lucy knew Elvis since they were teenagers so she was able to be frank with him. Elvis obviously liked that about her. Lucy's anger and jealously is a normal human emotion in that situation. She was giving him some tough love. Similar to how the shy Adrian ripped into Rocky in Rocky 3 for doubting himself and moping. Most men reading or hearing Elvis emotional pleas in this situation can relate. Sometimes we makes mistakes, bad dumb ones - but it doesn't change how much we love the ones we love. Very moving chapter on many levels.

You didn’t have a normal childhood but a grown man with a whole house full of people who can’t sleep alone the guys would have to sleep on the floor with him. Somethings not right and then his mother would talk, baby talk, even to his girlfriend about him having a baby something I can’t put my finger on it but something’s not right oh and then I do agree. It’s kind of weird bringing girls in the house and you tickle each other. Sorry but something not right. I don’t know what it is, but something happened to him. I agree. What we witness over and over is a regressive, unhealthy pattern of behavior on Elvis' part. The most disquieting part in these dynamics is that all the assholes, and fawners, and prostitutes, and enablers around him facilitated and enabled this destructive, harmful tendency, instead of helping Elvis address the genuine underlying issue. You don’t share your intimate sphere with everyone and anyone, including the worst of the worst. You are selective. You keep boundaries. Boundaries show someone’s self-respect. Self-respect is not offering to all the image of oneself as a manwhore. A well-adjusted healthy grown man and a responsible father is able of sleeping alone. Or he shares his bed with his wife or his life partner. Someone he’s in an genuine adult relationship with. NOT with whatever lustful ‘bedmate of the week’ who is eager to jump under the sheets, and who is willing to overlook his massively drug-altered consciousness. No matter how rich and famous the guy is. No matter if the rich drugged-out guy who multiplies life-threatening overdoses doesn't shag.

True friends call you out when you mess up. True friends warn you when you start dangerously slipping. True friends don’t enable, facilitate a behavior that is destructive, regressive, staining, harmful to one’s integrity and the loved ones. True friends don’t turn a blind eye. What did they do instead? Covering, pleasing, stroking, instead of fighting to solve the core problem. Spineless sycophants. Disgusting Enablers. And it includes all the linda, kathy, sheila, ginger, and whatever meaningless interchangeable escort of the prostitution ring they maintained for him. What a dehumanizing nightmare when the creepy, the abnormal and the immoral becomes the new normal, because, hey, ‘it’s Elvis’. Taking advantage of a vulnerable and isolated person's frailties is so unconscionable. Anyway, there clearly was a total collapse of basic moral standards in everyone around him.
