Still over a year later it still burns me that even Austin and the film won countless awards world wide. It is such a shame the Academy is jaded and has no integrity anymore. Not only was the film Nominated for 8 awards was shut out and Ausyin gave a once in a lifetime Oscar performance and was robbed of the award.

I’ve frozen my screen at THAT MOMENT when, after Baz has explained the significance the movie has for the Presley family, after Austin wiping away dripping tears he and Tom Hanks share a look of acknowledgment of the moment behind the back of Baz leaning forward. That is a moment. That is THE moment in this interview for me. Humanity shines through and through.

They created something so beautiful, I'm just amazed, we don't ever need another Elvis movie, this was it.

Elvis had so much happening in the short life he lived. How would you have felt if they did a mini series. from the true beginning to the end and all in between? The Father, the entertainer, the husband, the friend, the son, the giver of gifts. I feel that would have been a great series.

Leave Elvis alone. We don't need any more versions of his life . This story is told from Col. Parker's point of view, then there is his EX wife 's point of view in her film coming up . All nonsense. Elvis fans are sick of other people's perspectives of his life. Making Elvis look like a caricature is doing him a disservice. We have had enough. Austin Butler in my mind is not a good Elvis....he lacks the gravitas to represent Elvis. In my eyes , it's a film for those who have never come across the real Elvis . Elvis had such charisma, no one can really depict that. People rave about Austin as Elvis but I couldn't bear to look at him .....nothing like Elvis to me ,despite all the hair and makeup, costumes etc It's time to leave Elvis's memory alone.

@@kimberlyjaramillo8955it wouldnt be the whole truth. The truth varies depending on Priscilla's financial woes and her imagination. Truth based on Lisa-Marie's version would have been ideal. But everything the ex wife does damages Elvis' legacy a little. When Jerry dies, we will only have her version left. I am hoping she goes before Jerry and then perhaps he will tell us the full truth without fear of her suing him

@@greyeyes2872as long as it keeps Elvis alive and relevant, I'm good with an Elvis film every 20 years tbh. Austin was brilliant, nobody could ever be Elvis to a T. As for the actor he has a similar gentle, kind nature and he is humble, like Elvis was. Plus he's beautiful, nobody will ever imitate Elvis to our liking. But we do want more Elvis in the world

Let's just applaud Baz's amazing interpretation of Elvis's life and how he unpacked all aspects of the story, the music influences shaped by childhood experiences, historical context, blending contemporary & past musical influences to help bring meaning and appreciation to young audiences. Baz is a director with real empathy and connection to the films he creates and gives the audience a totally three dimensional experience.

Listen to how Baz described his deep, thorough research. Listen to the message he wanted to convey. The biggest irony of all the critics who claim the film is shallow SOLELY because of Baz's HDAD editing and flashy graphics - - those critics are the most shallow of all.

Baz attributes the Cannes standing ovation to several things but doesn’t even mention Austin. What? I’m certain much of that standing ovation was for Austin Butler’s Oscar winning performance in this film.

I feel that way too. It has to be because of Austin. But the movie is a team effort and Austin is getting massive attention. Baz is trying to temper the attention, Austin is gonna fly into the clouds as it is.

Elvis didn’t need not the Tom and not the Parker he was so talented and Tom Parker had nothing to do with that. I wish Elvis didn’t have Tom in his life when he couldn’t get on the stage because he was so out of it all he cared about was getting that money he didn’t care about helping Elvis get help. Also when Elvis passed he tried to stop his family from touching his money and it went to court and he took 50%. He was garbage and Elvis would of still made it without him.
