Its a blessing that Riley is taking care of Elvis and Lisa's Legacy, and on behalf of her sisters. I know Graceland would not be where it is had it not been for Priscilla, and we are grateful to her for that, but it's about time she handed the rains over to the rightful heirs. She got what she wanted out of it. I just wish Lisa didn't die so soon. Respect to Riley for finishing her mother's story through her book, and keeping her mother and grandfathers legacies alive. Facts, Vernon was approached by a group which would later be Elvis Presley Enterprises. They wanted to open Graceland as a museum. Vernon had planned on it and he became very sick and knew that Lisa who had inherited Graceland was still a minor so he told Priscilla to go ahead with the project. She fronted it for EPE and paid herself a million a year salary. That was LIsa's money. In other words EPE would have opened it anyway.

Priscilla had no right to change the colors and/or decor of Graceland. She was his EX-wife. She should have left it the way it was if it's supposed to be a 'real' representation of Elvis's personal choices & style. There are actually fans who doubt that Elvis wanted the decor & colors the way they were when he died - "Elvis would never choose them, it must have been Linda." Oh please, Elvis was all about being dramatic which anyone who has watched any of his concerts/shows should know. People were 'triggered' by Elvis in the 1950's precisely because of his clothing style & dance moves. I wouldn't dream of changing my ex-spouse's home in any way after they had died. Personally, I hope the upstairs is never open to the public - Elvis's entire life has been talked, gossiped & written about for decades; leave the man's private place private.

When u was a little kid my uncle came to town and he hit Elvis dad and his uncle to take us around the mansion. Elvis was still alive. The sat me on the tailgate of the red Jeep. I knew Elvis was the king. But I was still so young but I knew he was famous. And a star. I watched him on the tv. The day he died I was in line at the front. I signed the wall with a black sharpie. We got to go in and see the casket. A lady act like she was fainting and the had guards all around the ropes off area she fell towards the casket. She later told the news it was a wax dummy. People were fainting all over the lawn and ambulances were everywhere. A pregnant woman had a baby at Graceland. My fav story is the one where Elvis saw a black woman walking at the Cadillac dealership. She was looking thru the window at a white and gold Cadillac he said do you like that car she said oh I could never afford a car like that. She didn’t know Elvis. He walks in to get the keys from the manager and walks outside and said to her mam open your hands he out the key to that car that white and gold Cadillac in her hand he said that’s your car now. Go inside and fill out the paper work. I’ll never forget that story. I’ll never forget riding on the back of Elvis red Jeep. On the tailgate. That is a memory I have between me and Elvis. Not to many people can say that. I’m so glad my uncle took me there. I hated it when he died. There were millions around the streets lined up that day to walk past the casket. It was a crazy day in Memphis. On Elvis Presley Blvd. also known as HWY 51. I miss him. I miss Lisa Marie I hated that she died. I N would give anything to have them both here. Elvis should have never died. But Dolly Parton was told by Elvis manager that Elvis wanted to record I’ll always love you but Elvis had to have the rights to any song he records. Dolly Parton said no. Thank god she was smart. Because she is the richest singer today. Nobody makes the money she does. I miss Liberty land. I used to work there. The pippin roller coaster was Elvis fav ride he used to get us to close down Liberty land just for him and Lisa Marie. They had Elvis private cars on display that he would use. I miss Liberty land. That was a fun place. Used to go there from 10 am until midnight on the weekends. Such fun. The MidSouth fair cane once a year. Now it’s closed. Because of. Gangs drugs. They ruin everything.

I agree. There was no picture on any walls at Graceland of his EX wife. She had it all put back like it was when she arrived in the 60s, and had her pic put on the wall. She did this also because Linda Thompson redecorated it all red, which Elvis loved and left it that way to the day he died. Elvis and Linda broke up 10 months before he died and he didn't time to redecorate or was too depressed to care.

He didn't because even if you Don't like the red decor, you are wrong. Elvis wanted it that way, he liked it that way and did not change it. And the point is that today, it's historically incorrect because of his EX wife. So you are wrong. No matter how much YOU don't like the red motifs, it was what ELVIS wanted, and he left it that way to the very last day he was alive, and there. Many things made Elvis happy about Gladys, but many things he could not bear to be reminded of his mother who was no longer there. He never again watched his movie, LOVING YOU because his Mom was in it.

Elvis' Aunt Delta said that Elvis hated the red, that he avoided those front rooms as much as he could. She said Elvis' favorite color was blue. Aunt Delta was very blunt and I believe her over Linda Thompson who claimed the red was Elvis' idea. Priscilla didnt have anything to do with the changes to the main floor of Graceland before it opened. It is a museum and the curators returned the main floor to how it was when Gladys first lived there and decorated it. It was different than it is now. It looked more 1950s when it first opened
