They thought in the 60s that Elvis was finished and gone because the Beatles really took over. But Elvis had one more card to play up his sleeve that no one was expecting. He came back dressed in that black leather gear and he took the world by storm again as someone said He's starting again. And boy did he start. That's why it's called -The comeback special. Or the TV Special.

Well, I know I always (come back) to watch these performances because they are defiantly special!❤❤ And I am grateful for reactors and commenters or I would have never seen these. I wasn't born yet in 68, and wasn't into music till 80s so Elvis wasn't on the radio or Mtv and I knew of course who he was but WOW, he's AMAZING! Weird how you can become a fan of someone 47 years after they are gone.

Elvis was the most handsome, talented man that ever lived, of course the ladies are screaming.
@mrchips44898 ай бұрын
Elvis was self-taught on the guitar, the bass, the piano and the accordion among others. I think the shrieking near the end when Elvis half got up is because the fans were hoping he'd get up and dance. OTOH, all Elvis had to do was move his shoulder a bit and fans would scream. He was the first international Superstar and the first to cross racial lines and genres. Before Elvis, white singers would just stand there and sing; Elvis brought it to a whole nother level with his dancing and addition of drums which was otherwise not a regular feature with singers. Elvis fused Country, R&B, Blues & Gospel to create his own unique sound. No one like him before or after. Great times growing up and coming of age during the Elvis era. TCB

Elvis also plays a fantastic piano, and he also played the accordion. His very last live filmed performance eight weeks prior to his death, was unchained melody, where he sits at the piano and sings. It was a brutally passionate performance, considering he was very ill, and would die about eight weeks later. He suffered from bloating G.I. issues, vision issues and was not well at all, but it was an astounding performance. It’s live 1977 from the same concert when he sings how great thou art it was almost as if he knew he wasn’t going to live much longer. When he did the song my way from that particular concert in 1977 I remember as a teenager getting chills. It was his goodbye to us. Three of the most phenomenal, outstanding and heart, wrenching performances. Even at the very end of his life, his voice never failed him. Those performances were nothing but brilliant.

I think you're too young to understand lol yes he deep throated .. musically, he choreography his band, every hand movement, every head movement, he is directing them because he's freestyle & they don't know what he's going to do next .. they were not lyrics .. it was him just pretending to read a note he was given earlier ... he makes the drummer Ronnie Tutt work hard, he competes with the drummer. Sweetheart, in those days, people went to a theatre with seats , although it's live, nobody stood up. It's not like today. Watch him sing in the ghetto .. he eas dirt poor, lived in one of 4 houses for white people in a black neighbourhood .. he knows about the ghetto. 'This time you gave me a mountain' was a song from his concert that was broadcast by satellite to over a billion people. Michael Javkson had nothing on Elvis, I'm sorry, but he was a more modern & recent era than Elvis .. if Elvis had been around, Michael wouldn't have stood a chance. His music was mainly productions, he had auto ad libs, every bit of engineering equipment available. He could not have stood on a stage alone with such presence. He even used some of Elvis's dance moves. I don't want to diss him rip but he was a bit weird, the skin bleaching, plastic surgery, walking around with a a cover on him .. and he could go out. Elvis couldn't. His life was in Graceland .. listen to the diversity of his voice, the notes he can hit, baritone, verbato, also remember, he died aged 42, that's not old, how old are your parents kid? You're really understanding & learning a lot that you had misunderstood, by not knowing. There are places in 2021 social media, mobile phones .. some people can't help sitting on their arse all day, not through laziness but illness. You'll learn as you get older. You're a good lad and reactor. Do you know how many songs he did? It was 700! Keep up the good work xx ❤
