@KenTeel2 жыл бұрын
@@starsong8665 Armchair quarterback. No, I'm a working singer/songwriter/performer. I have first hand knowlege about this subject. Show me the tunes that you've written. Show me the number of gigs that you've played. Show me your recordings. What is your first hand knowledge of the music biz? THEN talk to me about "armchair" people. Elvis was a drug addict: period. He liked substances. Lots of addicts kill themselves with them. Elvis could have pulled the plug with The Colonel, anytime that he wanted to. Now, lets talk about his schedule. He did Las Vegas shows 2 months out of each year. That leaves 10 months of not doing it. During those 2 months, yes, he worked hard. He did 2 shows per day, 7 days per week. That is a very busy schedule. That is a lot of singing. But, keep in mind that the shows were 1. 25 hours in length. This is an hour and fifteen minutes. Personally, when I played in Reno (doing solo gigs) I played 5 hours each night. THAT was a lot of singing. So, I know what it is like to sing for a long period of time. And hour and fifteen minutes is very doable. Heck two days ago I sang for 2.5 hours (singing my own compostions, I might add) in the Northern California wine country. That is twice as long as Elvis sang in an individual show. Also Elvis had time to rest in between these hour and fifteen minute shows. I've regularly played 3 and 4 hour gigs, being the only singer, and instrumentalist, with only 10 minute breaks. Elvis had a good time to rest in between shows. So, yes he worked hard during the two months that he played, out of the year. Elvis used drugs. He liked them. He carried a Physician's Desk Reference (a book on presciption drugs) with him. Get off of the Elvis as a saint, thing.

My Aunt Rose took my Father to see him more than once. He felt like family. 🎶🎼🎸🎙 Since Elvis Presley's death on August 16, 1977, I've been a loyal but sometimes critical Elvis Presley fan! When Elvis Presley died in 1977 at the age of only 42, I was only 12 years old and had known little about Elvis Presley before! I currently own over 500 Elvis Presley CDs / records and a total of over 600 different Elvis Presley items (e.g. films, shows, characters, etc.)! I will continue to be an Elvis Presley fan, but occasionally I also listen to music from other singers and music groups! B. Filme, Shows, Charaktere usw.)! Ich werde weiterhin ein Elvis Presley-Fan sein, aber gelegentlich höre ich auch Musik von anderen Sängern und Musikgruppen! 🎸🎶🎵 👉 To my Elvis Presley Fan-Group (German & English): facebook.com/groups/383491762896798/

What a God gifted voice and talent that has blessed millions and influenced thousands too. Though he was the King of Rock and Roll he always acknowledged Jesus as the King of Kings of who one day we all will have to bow. too.

Ahh God love him, he gave his all in his last performance, I wish to God he had taken a year or 2 out & had some help from a genuine,caring person. If Gladys had lived, he'd still be here today I believe. God Bless him Thanks for sharing the film 👍🏻🇬🇧🇺🇸

He was planning on taking a year off to try to get off his meds and take care of himself physically after his last tour. He had a long list of problems with his health and was always in pain. After taking pain meds for awhile your body requires more, and that's where he got into trouble. Back then people didn't consider that you could be an addict if prescribed by a doctor. Elvis was against people doing illegal drugs. It's a shame society wasn't enlightened about presciption drugs back then.

I believe that too, but the gene pool was stacked against her as well as Elvis. Elvis had medical problems that dated back to childhood and only got worse the older he got with even more medical problems piling up one after another. Most of the meds he was on was for a medical conditions. His immune system was very low from birth on. Which made his lungs weak. He used and inhaler,( like people with asthma) before going on stage, they also put drops in his eyes for the glacoma, which started in his early thirties. By late thirties Joe or Charlie had to lead him off stage because he couldn't see.Thats why he started wearing those famous glasses. He had high blood pressure which people attributed to drugs on the sweating profusely. Joe Espisito said they would take his blood pressure after a show and it would be sky high! His colon was wrapped around his spine which caused alot of pain, because it was difficult for him to poop. That was going on since childhood. He always tried to clean out before going on toour or play Vegas. Which would explain why he stayed in his room most of the time. I have the same problem and it is very painful and uncomfortable. That's why they found him in the bathroom when he passed. They also determined e Did have a heart attack and that he'd stood up and took a step from the toilet. The autopsies determined that in his colon there was fecal matter that was 4mos old his bowels were that backed up! His liver problem was inherited( Gladys also did) the liver wasn't getting rid of the toxins like our bodies are supposed to. Out of Gladys 4 brothers, 3 died in their early thirties of liver and heart disease. She carried 2 genes(bad ones) and she passed one of the to Elvis, so he had strikes against him from the day he was born. He got toncilitis and was close to death as a child, they were to poor to see a doctor and sat by his bed and prayed all night and had their Church praying for him. Even after he made it big he had bouts of it and that was the reason for some of his hospitalizations. He wouldn't have them removed because he was afraid it would ruin his voice. He always had a fever.
