No discussion and without a doubt, Elvis Presley is the GOAT in terms of singing and performing ! And not to forget Scotty Moore, DJ Fontana, Bill Black and the whole band from 1969 to 1977 such as James Burton, Ronnie Tutt, Jerry Scheff and his backing choir The Sweet Inspirations were also Top Notch !

It was a bit disappointing he didn't come back and sing another song. But when they announced,'Elvis has left the building', it was like everyone in the arena let out a sigh. His voice was so good. Beautiful recording! Elvis’s energy was really up that night. Similarly to the live recording of the “Red Hot in Richmond” show. Man, I love the sensation I’ve always gotten throughout my life anytime I’ve heard or seen any footage or recordings of Elvis for the first time I’ve ever heard that particular recording. It always feels like I have metaphorically traveled back in through a time capsule where I got to go back in time throughout the 60s or 70s and actually witness the phenomenal experience, the emotions and the overall feeling that was Elvis live in spirit! I also have to say I love your content. Anytime you do anything like this because it makes me realize you’re almost as big of an Elvis fan as I am, you’ve just got a big megaphone is all. Hahaha! I have gone through one girlfriend after another, who probably breaks up with me because I have made them all sit through one Elvis recording, one Elvis movie, not to mention every documentary about Elvis on a lifelong binge until it drives them nuts or they realize I’m nuts. Lol not sure

I have this FTD, & it’s still sealed!! 🤦🏼♀️I have no clue why it’s so hard for me to open my FTDs. Maybe because I get all my music on Spotify/KZbin & play it on my Bluetooth speakers? Idk, but I need to start listening to them like I used to…the way you do! Btw…I think seeing how much Elvis & his music makes you happy is why we are fans of your channel! If there’s an Elvis fan who is having a bad day, just put on some Elvis music. Am I right?! My mood is always immediately lifted. Esp if I start watching old performances! Thank you for playing a bit of this! Might be the motivation I need to open mine!

Unfortunately the internet has "ruined" the pleasure to put an album in CD or Vinyl and listen to it in the old way. Personally I don't have Vinyls but many and many CDs. I wanted to get back into the habit of listening to them so I got a portable CD player as a gift since I no longer had one, and from that day on I started listening to CDs again. Spotify is certainly convenient... but personally I prefer to give greater value to the money spent on CDs and CD box sets that risked remaining on the shelves just collecting dust.

I'm considering joining your patreon channel. I like how you point out the highlights of each song and the various inflections/changes in his voice. He had so much energy at 36. Only 6 years later, he was gone. What a rapid decline that was. All the best!

I love putting them on the record player and going back in time in my mind, because we were so animated ourself when a group of us would just sit around on the floor jamming to records!!! Question: Do you like finding and picking up old albums, do you think they are better/same listening experience than the new remake albums? This I am very curious about your opinion!! He still had the 50s sound a bit in 69. Anyone here one of his later shows when he starts off a song I can’t remember singing in his high twang voice from the fifties and he jokes that’s the way he use to sing.. ?? still had it lol. 1971 was sort of an obscure year for Elvis compared to 1970 & 1972. He had only one tour, 3 album LPs released, & hardly any singles released that year that went either gold or platinum compared to 1969, 1970 & 1972. My favorite version of ‘Polk Salad Annie’ is the version he began performing In 1974. It had more horns and more drums. You can hear it clearly in this soundboard recording from December 1975: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmWxhoakfLdmbtUsi=IJK6nIQkBuGKEj4x
@rodscrivner71325 ай бұрын
If there had been a "Hollywood Camera" there his performance would have been more taxing, because he would have been prepared for it. This is his third year in Vegas and the last where he seemed to still care, at least somewhat. We can compare one performance, or year to another through all these FTD's, They are proof of his steady decline.
