I think you should see it from the perspective of a 50s citizen. His style of singing was totally new and standarts of good singing were very different. Nobody could decide who a good rock singer had been or who hadn't.

ELVIS was a Mega ⭐ he was very humble He was only 21, in this July 1956 interview. He once said that his fame came very fast, all at once. No other 21 year old, had such a enormous popularity and magnitude of a career, that he achieved in his 23 year career. Still, 45 Years later after his passing, NO ONE. His legacy will live on to Eternity.

I think he said this with sarcasm. Because at this time there was many newspapers etc which would say Elvis couldn't sing. So Elvis said here "of course, I'm not a good singer" in a tongue-in-cheek response to those critics!

Who still effect the AMERICAN PPL LIKE ELVIS DOES.....you can't cuz there ISN'T ANYONE LIKE ELVIS!!!! EVERYONE has they're own opinion about Elvis.....some might be bad...... but THANK GOD 99.99% OF IT IS ALL GOOD....AND THE 1% is ur comment tht no one really thinks about or worries about.........NO one can JUDGE ANYONE only God has tht power. Until a person has walked in someone's shoes.....I DON'T THINK ANYONE TRULY KNOWS WHAT IT'S LIKE LIVING SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE!!!! SO THERE FOR I THINK IT'S A SHAME!!!! HOW PPL CAN PUT SOMEONE DOWN..... AND NOT KNOW ANYTHING!!!! ABOUT THE PERSON THEY'RE PUTTING DOWN!!!!! I was only 10 yrs old when Elvis passed. I remember all of the family in front of the TV listening to the news. Then our momma was crying uncontrollably. It was such a heavy & sad time. I remember feeling so sad for his daughter who was a year younger than me. I remember thinking how sad she must have been & that made me sad. Elvis is truly an icon. Now, Lisa Marie is gone as well. It brings up a lot of sad emotions. RIP 🕊️

So polite; such a gentleman to everyone man or woman. I loved his interview and the way he speaks. He is young here at 21 years old so his innocence to a lot of stuff shows. He is not silly by any means but I remember when I was 21. It is a young age to get all the fame and publicity and how to handle all that must have been hard especially when you come from nothing or very little. Great video.

This interview of Elvis makes me sad actually. He comes across as though he's extremely tired almost to the point of exhaustion (has very dark circles and puffiness like little bags right under his eyes) and just not happy and this was when he was just starting out his career in his youth until his tragic death at 42! Just the fact he says he can't sleep but for 4-5 hours and then saying it all happened so fast ... it's like it was all in a daze for him because of the grooling schedule the Col. had him do non-stop at such a young age. He missed a lot of his teenage years because of wanting to become famous. Sooner or later all of it catches up with you and then it's too late. His death in his early mids is no shock considering his lifestyle and being as famous as he'd become. Elvis is an exhilarating inspirational story but also a very sad tragic one with many lessons to be learned from it for upcoming young people who wish to become just as famous as the King was. Wonderful interview of Elvis! What a treasure to have on film! So very rare indeed. R.I.P. ~ E.A.P. You will always be the King of our hearts

Some of the questions are frankly ludicrous, however, Elvis’s answers were polite and direct. At this time, he was a unique, exciting talent, whose voice was instantly recognisable. Elvis must have been bored and somewhat indignant about the stupidity of the questions, but nevertheless, he answered each one with good grace.

Elvis was pissed about putting on a tux and singing to a dog on the Steven Allen show. He was always upset about things that Parker made him commit to. At this time he loved to entertain and wanted the money desperately to make sure his mother was going to be well off from then on. He loved his momma best of all.

As he said by this early in his career he already owned 4 expensive cars and was giving away an expensive diamond ring as a prize and was spending money like crazy. I'm not sure how his extravagant indulgence was beneficial to his mother, certainly to him. He 100% relied on parker to keep the money rolling in so he could continue to spend

Interesting that out of this interview, we would see the downfall of Elvis and prescription drugs. He cited there that he could no longer sleep and averaged 4 to 5 hours. The excitement and demand of his career created this issue for him and that's when he began to take pills to make him sleep and to wake up, more so I hear when he went into the Army. Eventually, 20 years of this did him in. This is really the point and time when one can really see when it changes his life. He was only starting his stardom, he was a few months into his breaking year, '56.

He really say's a whole lot in the small amount of interviews that he gave, like what you just said, everything was a whirlwind and his life had just been completely turned upside down and all around with all of the star status and treatment, a crooked "stranger" Colonel popping into his life..........he and his family were always just "regular down to earth people, who were all of the sudden caught up in this storm, and even though the "storm" gave out a lot of wonderful things, like money, fame and anything and everything that you could want materially, he WAS just a wonderful son, amazingly gifted and talented, but they were a down to earth and humble family, first and foremost.....................

Such a classy, humble and talented man. How not love him? A truly pioneer, he changed world forever. I can see him in Michael Jackson, Freddy Mercury, Beatles and everybody that came after him. Unfortunately he can't see all the tremendous impact he still causes today.

@James Walker Sad to see him go so early He was the male version of marilyn monroe -- a happy carefree person. Happy people are great they help all of us to forget the bad things.
