I’ve been an Elvis fan since 1956, when his records were finally played across the USA, I’m from the Northeast, been listening to Elvis for 69 years and counting! Elvis can sing ANYTHING! And Did!! Any genre, 5 Hall Of Fames, Biggest selling artist of all time, they don’t even have the total, and that’s because they’re STILL selling!! Happy 90th Birthday Elvis Aaron Presley! We will always remember you! 💗💗💗🕺🎶☮️

Elvis always felt the emotions of every song he sang. In this one when he sings "get it off my shoulders", he bends at the waist as if there's a weight on his shoulders. It's these little things that make him the best singer/entertainer in the world.

He even went and signed an autograph during the guitar break. Walked back over and belted out again. I haven't seen anyone who can go from talking, etc., back to singing like nothing happened.

Elvis chose his band, The Guitarist is called called them the TCB Band (Taking Care of Business, Elvis' motto) The guitarist is James Burton, Ronnie Tutt on Drums, John Wilkinson Rhytm guitar, Jerry Sheff Bass. Glen D Hardin (piano) although sometimes some musicians were changed if they had other stuff on - He also used Joe Gershwin and his orchestra.. His backing singers were called the sweet inspirations, for a short while when he went to vegas 69 Whitney Houstons Mom Cissy Houston was a member of that group. He had a full Gospel Quartet also The Imperials, with JD Sumner singing Bass, all very respected musicians in their own rights. JD was someone elvis saw sing as a kid he would sneak into his shows and told JD one day i will have you singing for me... Elvis kept true to that... The high Voice singing in this performance was liekly Millie Kirkland, later a lady called Kathy Westmoreland took that spot. Every single one of them have nothing but good to say about Elvis. Infact, he refused to perform one time because someone there ahd a problem with his backing ladies being Black and he told them no them no me! There is a lot of lies about elvis being supposedly racist, far far from it as people who actually knew him would attest too.. so much about this man that the world needs to know x

The thing that IMHO make Elvis the GOAT of GOATS (and I really like many mucicians like MJ, The Beatles, Eminem, Pavarotti, AC/DC) are , he mastered so many genrers perfectly; blues, rockabilly, rock n roll, Gospel, country, pop, semi opera and he had a stage mannerism not seen before or after (not coregraphed, but just pure natural energy), he could do everything with his voice; hit high or low notes, wisper, , graul, smooth , rasp, powerfull and he had a cool way about him; funny, humble, cool, exiting. Also when he got into the music he always lost himself in it.

Elvis Story Time - In His 1972 Interview ( 45 Minutes ) He talks about hand picking the TCB Band -- and He asked who is the BEST Guitar Player - They said Glen Campbell - He says well He's Out - Glen was big then -- Someone mentions James Burton - Well He auditioned so many but James just stood out and He knew all of Elvis's songs -- and James was worried about the pink Fender Telecaster -- what Elvis would think but He loved it -- My Daddy had a Fender Jazzmaster Electric -- LOVE HOW HE PERFORMS THIS SONG SO MUCH EMOTION --

A great reaction to the awesomeness that is Elvis. He produced his performances and was not only the singer, but also the conductor with his musicians ( always the best) and his backing singers, ( always the best) watching him like a hawk to react to his moves and his voice. Especially as he would often be spontaneous and change something or keep going for longer. Love that you see the Elvis that we fans have known and loved for 7 decades. 💕🕺👌🙏

@@awordfrompresidentpat1985 the people who “say “ ugly stuff about Elvis don’t actually know a thing about the man. They are just picking up fag ends of nonsense they’ve heard over the years, starting back in 1056 when he changed , not only music for ever , but racial views that were so divisive in those times. Do watch “Elvis and the Black Community ” 1&2 to hear truthful accounts. So many reactors say they only knew Elvis as a racist who stole music , wore sunglasses and funny suits, and died of a drugs overdose. The caricature of the man. They are actually ashamed to find out for themselves psycho how Elvis broke down the barriers to segregation and had did not ever see colour in a person, only their talent or their needs. He always gave credit ( in print on his record labels to the owners of the songs he sang, which ensured they earned money from his success giving them exposure they’d never have ghastly otherwise. He had to wear sunglasses because he had the degenerative eye disease, Glaucoma , which meant bright lights hurt his eyes. ( so he made sunglasses Cool!!) His “ Funny Suits” were actually works of art and designed so that he could perform freely on stage with his Karate moves and beats to the songs, and they made sure all his audiences ( his venues always sold out 2 or even 3 shows a day!) could see him clearly. He died , not from street drugs ( as implied by the press, but from his dependence on prescription meds that enabled him to function and treated his glaucoma, his ulcerative colitis, his joint pain and his congenital enlarged heart ( all his mother’s side of the family died at young ages ) as now his own daughter has died recently. 😔🙏 So…… please find out for yourself with an open mind what a legend Elvis was and still is. You will not ever find any documentation or recordings of Elvis being anything but honest, humble and grateful towards his fans and his employees who stayed with him right to his end. 🙏👌💕🕺

Kathy Westmoreland is the backup singer you're hearing so clearly. Elvis used to always introduce her as "the little girl with the beautiful high voice". She was petite but that voice packed a punch. I saw Elvis in concert twice, '73 & '74, & his rapport with his band & backup singers was a highlight of the show. So much mutual respect on that stage was as evident as the talent. Btw..this song had been a hit twice in the 60's for 2 popular Country singers..Ray Price & Eddy Arnold. I was a little girl & didn't like Country music but I remember that song's popularity & my dad loved it. Thanks, Pat, for more Elvis. I always appreciate your thoughtful analysis & commentary. Much love from Kentucky. 💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙

He is always just so good. I was looking through your Elvis playlist and it doesn't look like you have done another fantastic great performance by him from that 1970 live in Vegas show, In the Ghetto. It was a huge hit for him the year before and was quite a social statement, kind of like if I Can Dream, only different.

This is an Eddy Arnold cover. I used to listen to this song as a kid at my grandfather's house.

So many reactors just review Elvis's best known videos without going for the deeper cuts and longer videos. Thanks for being more refreshing.
