This is the most beautiful song about America, In my opinion. Elvis voice makes it even more so. When he narrates it just blows me away. Wait until you get to do American Trilogy from 73. Makes me so happy when you're able to post a new Elvis reaction. I look for you all day.

It was sang by millions of people much like our national anthem. We used to regularly sing it at school & at sporting events. It was first entitled "America The Beautiful" in 1910. It is one of the most popular of American patriotic songs.

This song was big in 1976 as it celebrated 200 years of independence from the dreaded English. I have made a version from Philadelphia 28 June 1976 on YT using the Amateur film intersected by US scenery during the rough parts of the video. That version is better than this one being more atmospheric as it is recorded by a person in the audience.

The first time I have ever heard Elvis sing this. It brought me to tears but even so I have to add that Elvis was not only a Patriot that served in the US Army, but he gave to finance the Pearl Harbor Memorial in Hawaii. He loved America. Thanks Seph, that was wonderful.

The funny but I think 'cool' thing about Elvis 'released as a single' version of this song, is both this and 'Softly As I Leave You' were taken from fans 'audio cassette tape recordings' from concerts. This was because the RCA record company had not been able to come up with 'good' recorded versions of both songs! A Great reaction and a really Great song Seph ... especially when sung by The Elvis! THANK YOU!🥰

Soooo beautiful and inspiring. Elvis loved his country and was the epitome of a patriot. I am so glad he wasn't here in 2016 to experience those dark days. One of his dearly loved friends was a disabled Cerebral Palsy victim and he would have been so saddened to see that a racist, misogynist idiot who made fun of disabled people and disrespected the military was running the country. The song is very heartfelt and I love that you got goosies.❤❤❤

Most beautiful rendition I’ve ever heard. Never heard Elvis singing this song. He was very Patriotic. The speaking part is so unique. OMG I got chills with goosebumps. There were so many missed opportunities to film his many performances. He prided himself on himself in putting on a good show for his fans. Thank you for finding this Gem.💕🥰

--------------------- he was a true true patriot, serving in the army at the height of his career, working in the Infantry Tank Corps, stripping him of his luxuaries. Even the heart felt letter he wrote to President Nixon in 1972 expressing concerns over the chaos in our country at the time. Yep, true patriot.
