This entire Aloha concert is a love letter to her if you watch and listen to his song choice. He was singing to her. Even American Trilogy was a song she brought to him after hearing it. Thirdly, when he wanted her to stand up he was so proud to tell the audience how good looking she was “boy, I can picks’em”. And your friend was watching her instead of Elvis?? Fourthly, even though he did not want to marry at the time, he soon came to realise how much he loved being married and that having his own family meant more to him than anything. Question is he had ample time to let her go, years in fact. Why didn’t he? If he didn’t want her he would’ve agreed to divorce without fuss but he argued saying “why would you want a divorce, you have everything?” It upset him so much that he went into an out of control tailspin, he tried to put a hit out on Mike Stone, he never thought he would lose her, to dull the pain his dependency on substance abuse and anger levels and violent episodes increased. Losing his family literally broke the man! Finally, If you read the book that Billy, Lamar & Marty wrote on page 601, Billy relates a story of Elvis sitting and talking one night to all the wives and cursing out Priscilla, Billy looked at him and said “ You still love her don’t you?” Elvis paused and replied “Yes, I do, I could never fool you could I?” He then put his head down and crumbed like a wall”. Billy also mentions that there were rumours going around that Elvis had been buying her lavish gifts and had asked her to marry him again. You’re welcome! 😊
