Amazing.... This dude had at least 4 distinct voices that he could use any time he wanted, to fit any musical context, and they were all awesome! Why cant I have just one?? lol

I don’t think he could hold it because he kept laughing. I’m impressed at 39 that he sounded like 1954 Elvis was a second.

Incredible sloppy, Ronnie couldn't bother to learn the classic snare drum intro, James Burton is just playing "That's Alright Mama" even though this song calls for a distinct chromatic riff in the guitar. Elvis leaves out an entire verse ("Baby one of these mornings ....") and decides to repeat the first one, it's clear no one at this point no one gave a s**t. The only remarkable thing about this version is that he jokingly decides to change his voice to how he use to sing then, the results is that between 0:34 and 0:38 you can actually hear Elvis sounding like 'Elvis' which I think he doesn't realize is what people came to hear.

I feel like this is unfortunately true in similar ways for so many of his later recordings, which is such a shame because I otherwise rather like the style he adopted in the 70s

Elvis’ math is typically off. And does a horrible self impersonation. Still the GOAT where it counts.
