This song "My baby Left Me" came out in 1956, I was 10 yrs old, but first heard it when I was 12 loved it!!!! This rehersal was not how the record sounded when published. Yeah, and it was a 45rpm. Those were the good ole days.

Thanks for the video. I didn't know some of the pictures and some of the recordings. Although I've been an Elvis fan since 1976, I often have the feeling that I discover new things from Elvis almost every day. just great.

Isn't this mostly That's Alright Mama's melody with different lyrics. Just an observation...I never tire of Elvis from this era. Glad we still have access to the rehearsals and performances that we do.

Yes it is. both songs were written by Arthur crudup "big boy" and Elvis used to do a medley of em in some of his shows.

I prefer the stripped-down 1956 version. After the 68 Comeback, Elvis’s sound changed to the big band sound, which was probably a natural progression to suit his fuller voice. At least Elvis never skimped on employing the best musicians. Unlike Chuck Berry, who would turn up in town without a backing band, find the cheapest local musicians available, and demand up-front payment in cash.

Post-1968 Elvis sounds more 'fancy' in my opinion.
