With most artists you more or less know what you're gonna get, what you're gonna see, but that's not how it is with Elvis. He had so many different looks and moves, styles of singing too. He also always had fun on stage. But the man himself was even bigger than his music. he's worth discovering for sure.

Hi to you, I subbed because of Elvis and any song he covered, he Made it his own, actually he could sing the phone book and it' would be phenomenal , I suggest you React to Elvis singing Just Pretend and If I Can Dream in the 68 comeback special, white suit, the song is exactly what the world needs now more than ever , the song Just Pretend is in Vegas 1970 , Both powerful performance, yet so different like Elvis is , By the way, your grandma knows what she's saying when she says that Elvis is forever and Always in my heart and soul like billions of fans around the world, then you must hear him sing His favorite music , Gospel, like Peace in the Valley and Where No one Stands Alone which also has a version with his beautiful daughter Lisa Marie who gave that honor for her dad, before she left us, Too Much sadness, keep on the ELVIS journey, and you will see Why Elvis is Still Loved Around the World Forever and Always TCB, 1935

Please see "Trying to Get to You'. from the 68 comeback special, in the black leather. Beautiful. You mother was smart. He had a 23 year career, recorded 700 songs and 31 movies. He is the largest selling single artist of all time. Over a billion records world wide. He changed culture and music. I know I lived his career, I am 80 years old. thank for the reaction..

You have a looonng way to go w-Elvis -- over 700 songs w-amazing live performances -- 1970 from Las Vegas, 1972 Hampton Roads, Virginia, 1972 Greensboro, North Carolina & more from Hawaii including some amazing rehearsal videos in the studio. There's a tremendous amount to learn about him as a person through all the documentaries & as a performer.

And of course the 50’s TV performances - the most historic.

@@MarkRogersVOCFB Problem is people keep suggesting the same 3 or 4 songs over & over, mostly from Ed Sullivan when there is much more such as his very 1st TV appearance on the Dorsey Bros. Stage Show doing a great bouncy "Shake Rattle & Roll Flip Flop & Fly" or on the W.W.Il aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Hancock. Thanks.

I saw an interview with the writer a year ago. He said he had Elvis in mind when he wrote this song. Frank was bigger and wanted it, but he was thinking of Elvis.
@paulhuggett75036 күн бұрын
Frank was never 'bigger'. He'd just been around longer. Elvis was soon to overtake him and remains the most played solo singer in the world, and since he was 18! (1953 recordings have now been found)

Paul Anka rewrote the lyrics but the song is originally french.
@MigdaliaTomalinas-os2nz2 күн бұрын
Paul Anka wrote the song for Sinatra. From what I read Elvis asked permission to record this song and Paul did not think it was suited for Elvis. Elvis insisted that he could relate to the lyrics and Paul gave him permission. Elvis version was very profitable and Elvis continued to perform it in his concerts and he included it in his last recorded concert 1977. He passed away two months later. He was very sick and had to read the lyrics although he had sang it in the Aloha from Hawaii concert.

(new sub) BACKGROUND INFO: The original song is the French song entitled "Comme d'habitude" & composed by Jacques Revaux, Gilles Thibaut & Claude François. The English version (My Way) was written by Paul Anka who re-wrote the original version for Frank Sinatra. Anka changed the lyrics & subtly altered the melodic structure. The original French song has nothing to do w-Paul Anka’s written version as we know it, for the translation of "Comme d'habitude" meaning is “something that happens regularly” or “that isn't surprising.” There is a video of the original French version w-English subtitles on the internet Claude François Comme d'habitude French / English Lyrics Subtitles Sinatra’s daughter Nancy said Sinatra did not like the song to the point of hating it. Sinatra said it was "self-serving" but performed it many times anyway This Aloha concert was for charity for the Kui Lee Cancer Fund. It was supposed to raise $25,000 but it raised $75,000. There was no set ticket price -- people donated whatever they wished. Elvis bought his own ticket for $1,000.
