Elvis Presley - Scene from "Girl Happy" (MGM 1965)

This is one of my favorite slapstick-like scenes from an Elvis movie. Elvis has to "manage" a date with two girls at the same time, sweet Shelley Fabares (who had a US #1 single with "Johnny Angel" in 1962 and appeared in two other of Presley's movies) on the one hand, and hot Mary Ann Mobley, a former Miss America, on the other.

thats what you get for being a handsome playboy, elvis was charming, and funny, serves him right if he gets got. caught. he was always good , his acting deveoped better as he went along, especially with comedy.

you know, just watched some of his other movies, g.i blues- baby scene just adorable and funny, blue hawaii-romantic beautiful scenery, roustabout- a fun carny, and girls, girls, girls, all a littl sexist but still fun- they really are not as bad as titles or critics at the time have suggested, they were fun campy summer movies, they were not meant to be bound for oscar-ville. besides, in the 60,s made dozens of corn-ball summer movies, beach blanket bingo, gidget, tammy , etc, so elvis pics were not only one out there. i enjoyed more of his movies, elvis is excellent musically, funny, he had good comic sense,ansd sexy and romantic. today, when you look at them, yes maybe a little corny, and silly, but thats not a crime, in my book thats entertainining, tired of heavy movies todays, need something light and uplifting, watch them, they are wonerful.

King Creole is the 'best' Elvis movie, IMO, but this one is my personal favorite. Great supporting cast, Cute story, truly funny dialogue, great songs, beautiful co-stars. This is what a beach movie is supposed to be (even though very little takes place at the actual beach).

I was once in a situation like this. The difference was that the girl who was in my room knew about the other girls, so I could be open with her that I had just looked out the window and seen one of the other girls arrive --- could she leave. They passed each other in the hallway, the one on her way out, the other on her way in.
