I had red GTV back in the day. Best memories apart from regular visits to mechanics. Never regret it since every driver must have once an Alfa Romeo in his life.

As the owner of three Busso-powered Alfa 156s over the last 12 years, I can confirm that LCAs are pretty much a consumable item on the 916 and 932 series cars, especially those with fitted with a V6. But they aren't especially expensive - neither in parts nor labour.

Total rubbish. Watched the episode on discovery and they showed a soldering of a coil pack and replacing a crankshaft pulley and re chroming the inlet manifolds🙄🤣💩👎

ball joint boots are standardised sizes and can be bought for a few pounds each from a variety of sources- replacing the whole arm if the ball joint was intact wasn't needed

I paid £2250 for a '99 3.0 V6 in 2008, in better condition (long since replaced with a GT). Good to see this one getting a new lease of life and ultimately going to someone who will appreciate it. The DIY re-chroming made for some interesting watching.

Timing Belt Failure 10,000 miles early - sounds like a warranty claim on the belt manufacturer to me... and "negatively charged Cathode"... I thought that was wrong, but in a charging scenario it's actually correct.

That's the "normal" key Mr Brewer. The special or master key is the squarer duller matt red one.

The issues in the MOT is easy to solve, real issues are engine damage, gearbox damage and ECU .for all vehicles not considering body work

I almost bought this very car myself before Mike did, as it was only a couple of miles away and I passed it regularly. However the long list of advisories every year for the previous 15 years gave me the impression that it had been poorly maninted for a very long time and it was priced a lot more than other V6's which had a higher spec, lower mileage and in better condition.

I owned one for two hours. The engine blew up half an hour after picking it up. The garage towed me back. I asked for a refund despite them offering a rebuild. I'd already owned a rebuilt Q4. Nightmare. I loved the 2 litre TS 155s though.

That solid cranckshaft pulley instead OEM one proper two part with dumper rubber is straight road to kill engine. Worth to metion that Alfa Romeo is not supporting customers and no longer offer some crucial parts like that pulley. One small part and all that great work for nothing . Thank You Alfa Romeo ! :-/

Thats not the ”original red key”. Thats the std Alfa key. The important ”recoding key” is actually brown.

Why do they bother with this show, when it’s always never finished.!!!? Shocking way to present it to their (temporary) audience.! Might be ok if they mentioned that the next episode is due (on a particular date) but instead, they leave their audience hanging in no mans land.! Absolutely hopeless way to present this show, and no wonder I turn off watching Wheeler Dealers. Bring back Ant Anstead, ASAP

@@ajb8578 we both forgot one! The 3 grand iridescent paint. I know of a 156 2.0 locally, one owner. Low mileage, and it has. Every, option. Sun roof. Leather. Iridescent. Biggest alloys. She told me it was over 6 grand in options when new, and I want her 156 😂
