There have been great artists as long as there has been music but you obviously have not studied Elvis in depth or you would be "amazed" at how great he was as a total package. It was great talent with the courage to step out and do a different music that some fought for a long time. He opened doors that these "amazing artists" that never had a "chance" just can't manage to get through. But the human aspect of Elvis was as great as the legend. How he treated people, the charity he gave to people, and his humility that he never lost through it all. Then with the looks and his charisma, yes, he had it all and NO there has not been another like him or we would know about them. And your asinine remark, "chances he got"? I'm 66 and Elvis still rings my bell! Dad and I were big Elvis fans. I was 5 and we went to see this movie. He was mesmerizing. Dad and Elvis were the same age. On that hot August day in 1977 when we heard Elvis was dead...we were all shocked, it felt as if a close family member had died! My husband and I went straight to my parents home. It was quiet except for the tributes all 3 tv channels had all that night and several days until his funeral. We were sad and somber! I know that seems odd, he was just an entertainer. But we grew up watching him, listening to him and keeping up with his life! He was humble, clean cut, respectful and sang about LOVE. He was a nice guy from the South. I've never enjoyed another entertainer as I did him! RIP Elvis... RIP Dad...
